How to sum up the last few months of coaching through Paula Telizyn's Foundations art programme?

Transformative.

In ways you might have seen ... more professional website, consistent branding, clearer messaging.

And in ways you perhaps haven't seen because it runs deep within me ... self-reflection, aspirations, mindset.

I have a lot more work to do, but now have the foundation on which to build it, supporting and driving my passion to be a professional artist.

This weekend marked the one year anniversary of Hope Mosaics!

When I made a few mosaics and donated them to brainstrust in June 2025, I would not have believed that a few months later I'd be starting a business and selling my art!

3 months later, with a lot of encouragement and courage, I officially launched my online shop and sold my first piece.

I am also marking another milestone in the next few days ... 10 years since neurosurgery to remove my brain tumour. It's a coincidence that the 2 dates so closely align, but it also feels significant. Would I have become a mosaic artist if I hadn't found the connection between rebuilding my shattered life and bringing together the broken pieces of glass?

A wise woman recently told me, after seeing one of my A Level sketchbooks from back in the 90s, "You were always an artist!"

I feel like I can say that now, one year into this wonderful creative journey, 26 years after filling that sketchbook and 35 years after making my first mosaic ... more on the bumpy journey that fills in the gaps between these years another time!!

For now, let's just celebrate the moment .... any excuse for cake!

I'm Naomi Hope, a Contemporary Mosaic Artist in Derbyshire, UK.

In the broken pieces of my mosaic glass I see a reflection of our experiences, and when I bring them together there's a new sense of wholeness. If you look closely you'll see the cracks, the scratches, the chips. Look again and you'll see the whole. Perfectly imperfect, unique and beautiful.

l want everyone to know that beauty can come from broken pieces. This isn't just about selling art, it's about letting people know that they are enough. That perfection isn't the goal. That uniqueness is what makes us sparkle and shine. ✨️
