Greystone Flowers turns 3 today! What a journey it’s been over the last 3 years, after Megan & Vicky partnered up to follow the dream of becoming flower farmers and florists!
It started with markets to promote our business, meeting customers and fulfilling our enjoyment from curated a stand full of flowers as well as working with other small businesses. Sarah sarahsteare (Floral cakes, cupcakes and brownies ) joined us selling her beautiful brownies and we went on to stock our market stands with so many small businesses buys as the years have gone on.
It’s fair to say markets don’t have the footfall they once had and they’re a big commitment so we’ve not committed to as in the last year. But the tables are turning as plant fairs are getting booked in the calendar, taking the nursery on the road!
We needed land to grow our flowers, and as many flower farmers know this is not an easy find! We found the wonderful community of Holmesfield and our dreams of growing on a bigger scale became a reality after finding an acre to rent.
Dreaming big, maybe a little naive, we were ready to take on the challenge!
We flowered our first wedding as Greystone Flowers after doing this alone in our previous businesses. It was one of the factors for wanting to partner up as doing weddings together opens up so many more opportunities. From having two pairs of hands on the day, to brainstorming ideas and calming the pre-wedding nerves.
We’ve now flowered over a hundred weddings, revisiting so many beautiful venues and still finding new ones to flower. We met so many incredible couples and their families along the way too who have become regular customers as well as friends ✨
Being part of weddings is a massive honour and we love bringing couples visions to life for their special day. We’ve learnt so much over the years and enjoyed the challenges that come with weddings, all resolvable with our trusty wedding box of supplies ☺️
Our friendship has grown and strengthened over the years. Spending most days with each other, becoming like a married couple but yet to have an argument.. we do bicker though ☺️ We can read each other like a book.
