A smaller entry this week met with an exceptionally boyant trade on all classes of stock.
The first consignments of spring lambs were sold well hopefully indicating a strong trade in weeks to come.
Couples with strong lambs were still in demand as indicated by the prices achieved. Well fleshed cull ewes again sold well.

An increased entry met with a brisk trade throughout.
In the cull ewe section where well fleshed sheep commanded premium prices.
Couples were mainly of the mountain type reflecting slightly lower averages.
A small entry of hoggets sold well confirming continuing demand.

A reduced entry from previous weeks met with a steady trade throughout, resulting in a complete clearance. A good demand for well fleshed cull ewes + hoggets is still apparent.
The average price for hill couples was to a large extent reflected by the age of the ewe.
