This is huge!
Diligent followers of this page, and my dreams, will know that I'm a massive fan of Pete Howlett ukuleles.
I own both an early soprano kit, and a prototype of his "revelator" tenor ukulele model.
I also have several piles of timber and part builts that have passed through Pete's workshop.
Whether he knows it or not, or indeed whether he likes it or not, Pete has been my virtual mentor and inspiration for the past 12 years or so in my desire to build ukulele.
His wisdom and openness to share both his life and philosophy on luthiery, is what drew me in in the first place.
I even considered emulating him in producing my own workshop video diary, however the level of expletives I require probably makes for an unbroadcastable product!
Coming from a background of science, tech, engineering and business; it still bemuses me a little that an expert in such a niche field would even acknowledge a wannabe such as myself.
However, Pete did just this, welcoming me into his workshop as I contemplated the purchase of the revelator business in 2021.
Alas , it was not to be for me, but I am happy to share that this link might just provide a clue to the very bright future of the revelator brand......

I could tag both Pete Howllet and Kala in this but ultimately this isn't about me, this is about sharing how small and big this uke world is, and about celebrating Pete Howlett's work so far.
I hope to own more of his work in the future, even as I try to sell my own stuff.
