A new N-Scale B-Train fun shorty bodyshell design, based on the GE AC4400 locomotive, is now available from my Cults3D shop.

Two designs are offered, either for the 2-truck Kato 11-105/6/7 or the 4-wheeled Kato 11-109. The 109 offers better traction, being heavier and having a coreless motor with a flywheel.

Kato's N Gauge 10-503 'Chibi' Steam Passenger Set features an unpowered 0-4-0 loco and two coaches, one of which has a 11-104/11-110 powered tram chassis, all models of German prototypes.

Maridunian's Models offers two different British or an American swap body for the loco and a tramcar or brake van/caboose bodyshells for the powered coach.

The PRESTWIN twin silo powder wagon was a standard design for British Railways introduced from 1960 and used until the early 1980s.

The intial version, Diagram 274, was designed to run on a BR standard 17' 6", 10' wheelbase chassis. A revised design to Diagram 277 lowered the silos by 9" and ran on a 19' 6", 12' wheebase chassis.

This model comprises one bodyshell of each design. Both will fit a Peco NR121 10 foot Steel-type chassis, but the Diagram 277 type should ideally be mounted on a 12 foot wheel-base, 19' 6" chassis.

Rectangular tank wagons were some of the earliest dedicated designs for carrying liquids by rail and date from the mid-1800's.

Until the late 1960s most homes in the UK received "town gas" produced locally in "gas works" by heating coal in the absence of oxygen. By-products included bitumen (tar) and many rectangular tanks remained in service until natural gas was adopted across the UK between 1967 and 1977.

It's now a year since Shapeways closed their Marketplace and ceased printing my designs for customers.

N Gauge Wantage Tramway's Manning Wardle loco No.7 'Mary' is a 3D printed bodyshell mounted on an unpowered Kato 10-500 'Chibi' 0-4-0 chassis.

The loco is propelled here by a powered 3D printed 'Macaw' log wagon running on a Kato 11-105 motorised chassis. A version carrying girders is also offered. These stake wagons are also suitable for 009 and HOe modelling.

In 1880 Thomas Peckett took over the locomotive business of Fox, Walker, based at the Atlas Engine Works, Bristol. Pecketts produced over 1500 industrial steam engines over the following 78 years.
