We were pleased to welcome Didcot Superstore - Community Champions - Becci & Elaine to the Club today and thank them for raising £613.15 for us, at their charity football match, between Tesco Didcot Superstore and Tesco Didcot Distribution Centre.

Cornermen Steve attended the match which saw Tesco Didcot Superstore win 5-1.

We’d like to say a massive thanks to Becci and Elaine and to all the guys at Tesco superstore & Distribution centre.

⚽️ Charity Football Match Success! 🏆☀️

What an incredible day! Our charity football match between Tesco Didcot Superstore and Tesco Didcot Distribution Centre was a fantastic success.

Despite the scorching temperatures, both teams gave it their all, producing a brilliant game full of determination, teamwork and great sportsmanship. Congratulations to Didcot Superstore, who claimed a 5-1 victory, with the trophy proudly presented by the Didcot Mayor.

Together, we raised an amazing £1,226.30! 🎉 This will be shared equally between our fantastic local charity, The Cornermen and Tesco’s charity partners, with £613.15 going to each. Every raffle ticket bought, every tombola prize won and every cheer from the sidelines helped make this possible, so thank you!

A huge thank you goes to everyone who made the event happen:

* Everyone involved in organising the match.
* Our referee and linesmen for keeping the game running smoothly.
* The Mayor of Didcot for taking time out of a busy schedule to attend and present the trophy.
* Perfectly Imperfect for printing our Superstore shirts.
* Snob and Lock for their excellent service in helping us choose and engrave our trophy.
* John Cannon John's Whippy for keeping everyone cool with much-needed ice creams.
* Boundary Park for once again being fantastic hosts.
* And of course, every supporter who came along, cheered on the teams, bought raffle tickets and entered the tombola. Your generosity is the reason we were able to raise such an incredible amount.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to the amazing local businesses who generously donated raffle prizes:

Come and watch the match of the year! 😉

Didcot Tesco Superstore V Didcot Tesco Distribution Centre at Boundary Park this Sunday, kick off at 5pm ⚽️
Great opportunity for England to poach the next England squad! 🤣

There will be refreshments for sale, tombola and some great prizes to be won on our raffle. Raising money for the fantastic local charity The Cornermen and Tesco Charity Partners.

Special thanks to Boundary Park for hosting our event and to all local businesses who have donated towards our raffle.

We were proud to support the Didcot Five: a 5-mile run and fun run yesterday by donating over 600 bottles of water and bananas for all participants.
The Didcot Runners did a fantastic job organising the event, with everything going as smoothly as always. There was a great turnout in both races, and Everyone taking Part did amazingly regardless of the warm weather.
And thank you to everyone who gave up their own time to volunteer.

All proceeds from this event go to two fantastic local charities, Earth Trust and Didcot Emergency Food Bank

🔵 The next round of Stronger Starts started on Friday 24th April and you have until Friday 31st July to vote for your favourite project.

The 3 local projects taking part in this round of customer voting are

🔵 Cholsey Pre-school
Creating a living garden where children can plant grow and care for edible and child-safe plants supporting wellbeing, outdoor learning and healthy habits from an early age.

🔵 Clear Sky Children’s Charity
The provision of 1:1 therapy for primary-aged children who have experienced trauma.

🔵 Didcot casual U12 blues
Supporting local children aged 11 to 12 with inclusive grassroots Football in Didcot providing equipment and facilities so every child can stay active and enjoy sport.

The scheme is open to all schools, registered charities, and not-for-profit organisations,
With priority given to projects that provide food and support to young people.

We welcome nominations from Tesco customers and colleagues, You can nominate projects for a Tesco Stronger Start grant and vote in-store for shortlisted projects.
