🎨 Protecting public art on the River Lea
The River Lea Art Trail has transformed tired riverside benches into individual works of art, created by local artists and inspired by the area’s wildlife, heritage and landscape.
With the benches sitting outdoors on the busy towpath between Hertford and Ware, the finished artwork needed protection too.
Urban Hygiene’s Permanent Anti-Graffiti Coating was applied over the painted timber, creating a clear, cleanable barrier that helps protect the artwork from graffiti, handling and everyday exposure without hiding the colour or detail underneath.
Nine benches were installed for the trail’s launch, with 11 planned in total.
