I've always been one of those creative types, do you know the kind I mean? That's it, I'm one of those girls that unwraps gifts with complete care, just so that I can save the wrapping paper as it will surely come in useful one day for a crafty project! And, if said gift were to be finished the ribbon, well, now that's just a gift in itself! Well, that has to be down to m
y children, in a number of ways. Firstly, whilst pregnant with my first son, I received a couple of nappy cakes (or diaper cakes, if you prefer) as gifts, they were quite lovely & I thought I'd like to have a go at making one myself. After making several for friends as gifts, word of mouth spread and they started to become quite popular within my local area. Shortly after the birth of my second son I was made redundant from my day job, the nappy cakes were beginning to create quite a demand locally & so I thought I'd create a page to see if people around the country took an interest, to my surprise, they did! So with 2 very young children to look after and no salary to contribute towards the upkeep of the family, I decided to put my skills to good use & set up my own little business. My business is now almost a year old & I've managed to develop & expand, not only, my range of nappy cakes & baby gifts, but also into jewellery and artwork & have even managed to produce a Christmas range. I absolutely love what I do & put all my love & care into everything I make, which I hope shines through in the quality & presentation of each item. I'm truly my own worst critic & a complete perfectionist! I don't imagine that my little home enterprise will ever make me millions but if it makes me a few pennies to treat my family every once in a while, I'm happy...and the fact that I get to make beautiful things & make people smile in the process is an added bonus!
