Phaedra has always had a love for beautiful fragrance so when she couldn't find exactly the natural, eco-friendly scents she needed for her home, she set out to

I just love spending time in our upstairs space. It’s always been somewhere I hoped people would feel relaxed enough to stay a while, and right now I especially love this corner. ⁠

I adore our One Hundred Stars collection with all the gorgeous boho prints, and all the little pops of colour dotted around. Our rainbow stripe basket bag and that incredible wool scarf... It’s such a joyful spot in the shop. 😍⁠

These fabulous Soake pagodas have been flying out lately, with so many people using them for a little bit of shade at the beach or in the garden.⁠

I love the bright pink, but the polka dot parasols do have a UV-protective layer to keep you safer during all these heatwaves! ☀️⁠

Beautiful scent is such a big part of my everyday life that I hardly ever go anywhere without it. I love taking a candle tin or a reed diffuser with me because it's such an easy way to make a hotel room or holiday home feel instantly welcoming and familiar. ⁠

I'm really feeling all the summery Mediterranean vibes in the shop at the moment, so I couldn't resist brightening your morning with a look at some of my favourite bits. ☀️⁠

We've had so many lovely deliveries lately, and somehow there are still more on the way! 🤪⁠ But the whole shop has been feeling so joyful. Full of colour, beautiful fragrance and lots of little trinkets and treasures to make your home feel like you're on holiday.⁠

When I first opened House of Phaedra, I obviously hoped people would come in and buy things. 😆⁠

But more than that, I wanted to create a space where people felt comfortable. Somewhere welcoming. A place to pop into for a browse, to have a chat or to take a moment to relax with a coffee.⁠
⁠
So I'll never get bored of hearing people say, "I'm just coming in for my fix" because it means that House of Phaedra has become more than just a shop. It's become a place people enjoy spending time in, and I really couldn't ask for more than that. 🤍⁠

I started Purbeck Candles back in 2011, blending essential oils and melting soy wax on an old oil fuelled aga in a pretty rented cottage on top of a hill overlooking Corfe Castle. ⁠

The same castle that features in my Purbeck Candles logo.⁠
⁠
Now every scent is blended, and every candle is hand-poured from the studio at the back of House of Phaedra in Dorchester, but I love that every time I pick up one of my candle jars, I'm reminded of where it all began. 🤍⁠

I had a look through my photos to find some pics, but I think the last one has to be my favourite. Love our Luna. 🥹
