Had a little adventure of my own this week. A 5 day break with friends I’ve known for 40 years to Palermo in Sicily. There was rain, there was sun, there was much food, fun, chatting and laughter. I rediscovered Aperol Spritz and Negronis. I discovered I quite like city breaks. I cannot wait to go with them all again ❤️

1- I was designated the group selfie taker, long arms apparently.
2- Quattro Canti (Four Corners). A baroque square on Via Vittorio Emanuele built in 1609-1620.
3- Palermo Cathedral.
4- Monastery of Santa Caterina, a rooftop pastry shop.
5- Castello Utveggio overlooking Palermo city.
6- Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia in Monte Pellegrino.
7- Modello Beach - had a lovely swim here.
8- Made the most of the position of the afternoon sun to enjoy Aperol Spritz on the apartment balcony.
9- The bar below the apartment.
10- 2 Aperol Spritz and 3 Negronis later…no longer able to focus the camera 🤪

While we were at the beach yesterday for George’s birthday I found probably the most beautiful piece of seaglass I’m ever going to find. It was just sat there, on top of the pebbles on a huge beach that barely has any seaglass. It was meant to be…..

And I lost it on my way home 😩 I’d stuffed it in my leggings pocket which also had my phone in it and I stopped to buy George treats in a garden centre and then in Tesco to get a sandwich for my lunch. It must have come out with my phone when I paid and I didn’t hear it fall 😢

But in the grand scheme of things it’s just a piece of glass, but I’m leaving the video of it on my page so that I can look at it and remember how pretty it was 🩵

The boy dog is a whole 5 years old today 🤩 He’s been to the beach, to a cafe and a garden centre for treats. He’s had the best dog birthday he could have 💛

I did do a thing yesterday, I’m not keen on heights and I have trust issues with ropes that supposedly hold my over generous weight…but I decided to go down a 490m zip wire at speed on Mothers Day. All because it was something Kiera would have wanted to do.

Do I believe in signs? In all honesty I’m still not sure. A lot can be logically explained, rainbows appear when light refracts and reflects through water droplets in the air, when there is sunshine and showers at the same time. But…we had been on the beach for less than a minute and turned to see this spectacular view. We both had a cry. We both have chosen to view this as Kiera telling us that she is here with us, that there can be brightness again however dark things seem. ❤️

Greg and I took Kiera on our own little adventure this past week. We were very very kindly gifted a week in a friends apartment in Lanzarote, we haven’t had a foreign holiday with just us two for 25 years. A week spent just resting, eating, drinking and walking.

1. The flight crew very kindly took Kiera’s travel photo into the c**kpit, no buttons or pilots photographed for security reasons, thank you to

4. The photo I cannot send my mum…why do tourist tat shops think that tourist like c**k shaped holiday memorabilia 🥴😳🤣🤣🤣
5. Greg, the ever patient, calm and lovely husband.
6. Me, the slightly unhinged, menopausal, gets pi**ed quick, couldn’t pose for a serious photo if my life depended on it wife.
7. At 53 years old my mum still gives me £5 for a holiday ice cream 🥹

About time I posted some actual work as this is a work account! Although I’m still undecided about where Made At Mayview is headed I still keep fully stocked with a variety of fabric makes. Birthday badges are my favourite make and there’s a full stock of numbers age 1-100 available ⭐️

The response to Kiera’s travel photo has been way above what I ever imagined and I’ve sent out over 200 of them all over the country, to France, Germany and New Zealand!

Thank you all so so much for taking her with you!

You can see all of her travel photos to date in my stories highlights, please know that all of them will be shared by me without identifying information to protect you all.

Today George and I left a few more at Holmbury Hill view point for people to find over the weekend.

I’ve had lots of questions about how it all works as well so I’ve put a few answers in this post to help, please do get in touch if you’ve any other questions though.

Can I ask for your help once again please?

I’ve seen this type of memorial for other young people and it’s something that I think Kiera would have approved of.

She never got to travel much, within the UK or overseas so I thought that I would try this.

I’ll be leaving a few of these laminated photos in random places local to me (and further afield when I travel) over the coming weeks in the hope that they are picked up by people and taken on their travels.

If you aren’t local to me in Surrey I’d love to post one out to you so that you can take part, just let me know where to post it.
