My passion for art and antiques started early on when I saw my parents collecting folk antiques, silver and furniture and my aunt selling antique jewellery, soon I started being inspired by beautiful objects and their history myself. It was natural to me that my interests would lead me to finish a Master degree in History of Art. I have experience working in the art sector primarily in different auction houses in Poland and the United Kingdom.

2020 for many others like me is a year of transition personally and professionally. Here is my new journey as an antique dealer with a passion for European antiques, rare collectables and modern art. A lovely 18ct gold Edwardian purple guilloché enamel diamond pendant necklace. It’s decorated with a quatrefoil cluster of old cut diamonds in a millegrain gold mount. The pendant is enamelled in a deep purple guilloché, the engine turned pattern catching the light beneath the translucent enamel, with a single pearl drop below. The chain is 9ct gold.

I’ve been a huge admirer of sunburst clocks for as long as I can remember.

This one is by Japy Frères. Frédéric Japy was a Swiss-born clock and watchmaker who industrialised French clockmaking in the early 19th century. Before him, movements were made entirely by hand, one at a time. He changed all of that, and the firm he built went on to supply mechanisms to the finest Parisian retailers all through the Belle Époque and beyond.

My French casket has just arrived… ☺️

A beautiful 19th-century piece from the Napoleon III period, bearing the engraved signature “Alph. Giroux à Paris.”

Maison Alphonse Giroux was one of the most celebrated luxury makers in Paris, known for supplying finely crafted objects to the French court.

This example is covered in its original silk velvet in a deep plum tone. It is adorned with gilt metal mounts, including charming figural putti to each corner and delicate scrolling details throughout. The casket retains its original key, and the lock is in working order.

At the centre, a glazed panel frames a hand-painted scene of a lively Parisian square, possibly inspired by Place de la Concorde.

Measurements: 24 × 15 × 14 cm

A 19th century French casket box made during the Napoleon III period and bearing the engraved signature “Alph. Giroux à Paris”.

Another view of this vase I shared it recently, but it’s one I keep returning to.

There’s something about Théodore Deck pieces, the intensity of the glaze and the richness of the colour always draw you in.

It’s been more than a month since I travelled from the UK through Amsterdam and Brussels to Maastricht for TEFAF Maastricht 2026. My first trip by myself since becoming a mom as well…

Sometimes the journey itself becomes part of the memory. Early starts, changing trains, watching different cities pass by the window, and that quiet excitement of knowing something special is waiting at the end of it.

For me, visiting was a great reminder of why I love antiques and the stories that pieces can carry through generations. Seeing so many extraordinary works in one place was genuinely inspiring and I already can’t wait for 2027 edition.
