Driven by my passion to create the finest quality guitars from select imported timbers, combined with old school craftsmanship & techniques, each and every instrument built in the Belvoir workshops is completely unique. On a Belvoir branded build every part of the job is done inhouse, no shortcuts are taken or expense spared to match choice exotic hardwoods using time tested methods with state of

the art hardware from renowned manufacturers like Grover, Kluson, Faber, Gotoh, Schaller & Tone-Pros together with pickups from Seymour Duncan & Gibson, CTS pots and former Eastern block PIO capacitors to equal anything that left the American factories in the glory days of the late 1950's. The current limited run of Belvoir '59 influenced LP builds feature 60 year old Brazilian mahogany bodies, North American bookmatched flame maple hand carved tops, mahogany 17' scarf jointed necks with Indian or Madagascan ebony or Bois d'Rose fretboards inlaid with abalone or mother of pearl - sprayed just like the 50's classics using nitro cellulose laquer giving a glass like finish that breathes. A Belvoir instrument is handcrafted art.

Here's a 1969 serial LP Deluxe with 1970 pot codes. Came in totally unmolested, no breaks & with original frets. I'm always slightly disappointed when I see an old Gibson without the nibs so I was determined to try a different approach. I removed both the frets and the binding & after refretting I fitted new binding and then amber tinted the new ABS using the original as a pattern. I think I nailed it! I also had to replace the logo as the 'G' was missing and tinted the new MOP in the same way. Top previously been stripped so I went for a burst. End result was a fantastic looking & playing guitar. I'm always feel slightly dissapointed when I see an old LP thats lost its nibs during a refret. Baiscally a luthier has two choices - either saw through the binding leaving the ends of the fret tangs showing, or nip the tangs and fit the new frets 'inside' the binding. Of course the latter method ri...
