After the first day I was feeling really positive about everything - we’d taken down everything that needed taking down; it was all starting to look like a blank canvas. We found a couple of surprises that might have made things awkward, but nothing to worry about.

Since then, we’ve found that nothing is square or level - not walls, not floors, not ceilings - and by significant amounts. Everything is a lot more work than we’d anticipated!

That’s the tip of the iceberg, but it’d be stupid to think we’ll be open this weekend, so I’m going to call it now.
