🎃 …and with that, the 2026 PSL season begins 🎃

A few sneaky customers who know how to keep their baristas happy have been able to get their hands on an early-PSL for a couple of weeks since the secret set of spices arrived back in store (looking at you Karin) - but this weekend we’re kicking off autumn properly and bringing back our PSLs to the menu.

Our PSLs are made with Monin PSL syrup and a secretly blended set of ground spices to make them extra tasty and a bit unique. They’re a seasonal special and they’ll be on the menu until the syrup runs out and we can’t get anymore - so make the most of them while they’re here.

It’s the 139th annual Dufftown Flower Show this weekend - so we’re showing off all the talent Dufftown has to offer - including in coffee roasting! So you’ll be able to get your PSL (or any espresso based drink) with Nicaraguan single origin beans from Conval Coffee Roasters. Based in Dufftown, they roast walking distance from our store so arrive with us extra fresh.

🌸 It’s the annual flower show this weekend in Dufftown 🌸

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to plan a trip to BEINN Dufftown, this is it. We’re all stocked up on gardening books, autumn reads and cosy vibes.

Dufftown Flower Show has been an annual event for almost 140 years. With categories covering flowers, vegetables, baking and crafts - we love that it provides a space to show off so much talent around Speyside.

From 6ft prize leeks, novelty pumpkins & gourds to dozens of crafts & bakes, there’s something for everyone - and they’re a really friendly inclusive bunch - so if you’ve been growing something special this year, definitely enter it into the show! (Details below)

The Show be open to the public on Saturday 12th September 2026 from 2pm - 5pm (with disabled access from 1.30pm) and on Sunday 13th September 2026 11.30am - 4.30pm

Presentation of Trophies at 3.30pm on the Sunday and our top tip is not to miss the Raffle & Produce Auction at the close of the show after the presentation of trophies where you can bag yourself some prize veg (or an award winning Swiss-roll) to take home for a bargain price.

Entry is £2.50 for visitors and kids go free.

🌻 Planning on exhibiting something in the show? 🌻
It’s just £2 for as many entries as you like as well as free entry to the show if you’re exhibiting.

Entries to the show will be received on evening of Friday 11th from 5pm - 9pm and on the morning of Saturday 12th 6.45am - 8am

🐾 It’s a tough life waiting for your human to finish book shopping 🐾

If you’ve brought your pup into store, you know that you’ll normally find us reaching for the dog treats to say hello to them before we’ve even taken your coffee order (sorrynotsorry).

We just ask that that owners are considerate of any other customers in store at the time and that furry friends are kept on a lead while they’re inside.

See you and your pup tomorrow for a Sunday boneo? (As well as a coffee & a book if you insist) 🐾📚☕️

🍂 Autumn reads have started arriving 🍂

Here’s a few new ones that we’re particularly excited about. Starting with a classic of the genre, the newest Cinnamon Falls Mystery.

Ginger Mills is the new girl in town.

She’s ready to start afresh in Cinnamon Falls, focus on herself and bake seasonal sweet treats in her beautifully renovated bakery. Although her infuriatingly handsome contractor, Austin, is already proving an unwanted distraction…

When a body is discovered in her bakery one morning, Ginger’s fresh start goes up in smoke and the town begins to gossip. Who is this new girl? Could she be a killer? Only Austin seems to believe in her innocence.

As the connection between them begins to heat up, Ginger and Austin must follow the crumbs and unmask the real killer… before it’s too late.

Tropes:
⭐ Small-town setting
⭐ Grumpy x sunshine
⭐ Amateur sleuth
⭐ Healing each other
⭐ Mysterious past
⭐ Animal companion

🥤 Give your BEINN takeaway cup a life between coffee and compost this autumn 🌳🌲🍂

The forest floors around Dufftown and Cullen are covered in Beech nuts, the sycamore seeds are looking ready to drop and the oak acorns won’t be far behind.

So if you’re grabbing a coffee before heading out on a walk, why not forage some native tree seeds. Rinse out your coffee cup, poke some holes in the bottom, fill it with compost and you’ve got yourself a starter-home for a native tree. Just water them in, and leave them outside - you’ll be amazed what pops up next spring.

Our takeaway cups are certified plastic free and biodegradable _ using a water-based coating made from latex and minerals instead of PE or PLA plastic coating.

They last pretty well outside, but if they’re looking a bit worse for wear just use your next coffee cup to stack them.

Once your new sapling is ready to plant on into a bigger pot next spring, just pop them in the garden waste to finish their composting journey.

🍄‍🟫 It’s foraging season 🍄‍🟫

It has felt gloriously autumnal in store and out this weekend - Karin even dropped in for the first PSL of the season (not officially back on the menu yet, but the syrup and spices have just arrived in Dufftown 👀🎃🤫) before heading out with the chanterelle basket.

Hope you’re settling in for a cosy Sunday evening. We have some fab books in stock on foraging and cooking with wild food - if that’s up your street, drop in and see us this week.

We’ll be back open tomorrow, and every day this week.
8-4 in Dufftown 🏔️
9-5 in Cullen 🌊
