New in at Paine Free Crafts — Aurifil cotton threads! 🧵
We’re very pleased to now be stocking Aurifil 8wt, 12wt and 28wt cotton threads, both online and in our Dumfries shop.
Aurifil is known for its beautifully smooth, high-quality cotton threads, and these heavier weights are lovely for embroidery, decorative stitching, quilting, cross stitch and all sorts of handwork.
We’ve chosen a broad range of colours across the three weights, including solids and some gorgeous variegated shades, with each weight offering something slightly different:
8wt — bold, substantial and perfect when you want your stitches to really stand out (equivalent of about 2-3 single strands of DMC)
12wt — wonderfully versatile for embroidery, decorative stitching and handwork (equivalent of approx 2 strands of DMC)
28wt — finer and ideal for detailed stitching where you want definition without too much bulk (virtually the same as a single strand)
