Opening this Saturday The Novel Exchange will be open this weekend, Saturday 10AM - 4PM & Sunday 10AM - 2PM. Pop along for a browse and discover their beautiful collection of new and pre loved books for adults and children alongside a thoughtfully curated gifting range.

And there’s a little bit of Barn & Bloom in there too 🌿 You’ll find a selection of our dried flowers, pampas grass, fresh eucalyptus and seasonal blooms available to pick up while you browse.

Barn & Bloom is ONE🧁🌸

What. A. Year. 🥹

I can’t quite believe it’s been a whole year since Barn & Bloom officially began. One year since I took the biggest, scariest, most exciting leap of my life and stepped into this beautiful world of flowers, early mornings and endless to do lists!

It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done but without a doubt, the best. There have been highs, lows and an awful lot of flowers in between but looking back at what Barn & Bloom has become in just one year I feel incredibly proud, grateful and if I’m honest a little bit emotional 🤍

Thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their flowers from bouquets and everyday orders to weddings and farewells - and to everyone who has joined us at a workshop, shared a post, recommended us or simply followed along. Every single bit of support has helped turn this little dream into something real and I’m so incredibly grateful 🤍

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Barn & Bloom - here’s to year two, everything that’s still to come and of course celebrating with a little bit of cake! Although judging by wee Alf’s face, I think someone was more interested in the cake than Barn & Bloom turning one 😂🧁😋

Christmas can be a beautiful time of year but when someone we love is missing, it can also be one of the hardest.

Together with Jardine Funeral Directors we’re creating two gentle spaces this Christmas to pause, remember and create.

🌸 Wedding flowers, little helpers & giving back…🌸

We’re big believers in repurposing, reusing and giving back wherever we can and this little project meant a lot to me.

On Sunday, I had a little team of helpers who helped me turn flowers left over from a very special wedding into beautiful little arrangements in recycled jam jars 🫙🌷

The flowers had already played their part in one very special day and it felt lovely to give them a little more life and bring some joy to someone else.

Then yesterday, we took our flower arrangements along to a local care home. Els & Alf helped hand them out and what started as leftover blooms turned into smiles, conversations and some lovely little stories 🥰

It was so lovely to see the little lift the flowers gave everyone and there were some beautiful smiles as they received their flowers and found the perfect place for them in their rooms 🌸❤️

This is exactly why giving back matters so much to me - not just as a business but by involving the next generation too.

I want them to experience the joy of giving, creating with their own hands and connecting with people face to face. To understand that happiness doesn’t always come from buying something new or having more things. Sometimes it’s as simple as giving your time and energy to someone else.

We’ll definitely be doing this again, so if you know of a care home, community group or somewhere that would love a visit from our little flower crew please let me know 💕

And…I’m always on the hunt for jam jars to repurpose. If you have any lurking in your cupboards don’t throw them away, send them my way and we can give them another life 🌸

This Christmas we’re creating space to remember 🕯️

Christmas is a time for celebration, togetherness and making memories. But for those of us missing someone special it can also be one of the most difficult times of the year.

This Christmas, together with Jardine Funeral Directors we’re creating something a little different, two special christmas memorial workshops.

🌿 Memorial Wreath Workshop
Wednesday 2nd December 2PM & 6PM

A space to step away from the rush.

To pause.
To remember.
To create.

Through flowers, foliage and gentle creativity, we’ll take time to honour the people we carry with us - creating something meaningful with our own hands while sharing a quiet moment of connection, reflection and wellbeing with others.
