We have a number of amazing designers, organisations and costumes featuring within our FREE ‘Curtain Call: Costumes from Stage and Screen’ Exhibition at McManus.

One thing that we love is how much costume design has changed and developed over the years. Taking the two featured costumes in this post for example, the contrast between The Scottish Dance Theatre outfit and The Dundee Rep Theatre Sister of Charity Habit are so very different.

The styles, the cut, the structure, materials, designs, everything is different. Of course, these pieces were for two very different events and shows but it’s amazing to see the difference in techniques between these two costumes, and how far costume design has come over the years.

Have you been to see our show? There’s still time! Our ‘Curtain Call: Costumes from Stage and Screen’ exhibition is open until the 15th November, so make sure you pop along before it’s too late. Plus, it’s completely FREE!
