So.....

Takom have released the T28 and M28A1/A2 kits. Very nice they are too. Got to be one of my favourite post war examples of sheer madness alongside the Tortoise.

There is just one (slightly minor) problem - the tracks. Each link has 6 parts, 100 links per length and 4 lengths for each tank. That's 2400 parts to be removed from the sprue, cleaned up and then glued together very carefully in order to make them work. Oh boy!

I had a wee think about this and came up with the idea of printing them myself. Two pieces - the link and a pin. The test parts have just been completed and I've included photos here to show them including being fitted to one of the kit sprocket wheels. For the 30 links shown, it only took 10 minutes to assemble and, due to the pin design, no glue is needed.
