This collection really started with that feeling we all get around this time of year.

When winter starts to lift, the days feel brighter again, and everything just seems a little lighter.

You start thinking about the months ahead… planning holidays, remembering places you loved, and imagining being back somewhere warm and peaceful.

Those feelings were really the inspiration behind the Desert Bloom collection.

Soft desert tones, warm earthy colours, and that calm feeling you get when you’re somewhere sun-soaked and quiet.

A little reminder of brighter days, new plans, and beautiful places.

There’s something about soft stone, warm light and simple objects that makes a space feel calm.

The Desert Bloom Collection was inspired by that feeling.

Sun-warmed walls, sandy courtyards, and the colours you see in quiet Mediterranean mornings.

Each piece is individually hand-poured, sanded and sealed in my studio - which means every tray, dish and diffuser carries its own unique mineral pattern.

No two pieces will ever be the same.

Designed to hold the little things you reach for every day.

Now available at Nomad & Nest. Link in Bio 🤍

Something new has quietly arrived.

The Desert Bloom Collection.

Inspired by warm stone walls, sunlit courtyards and the soft colours you see when travelling through Mediterranean and desert landscapes.

Each piece is hand-poured in my studio using Jesmonite, creating a natural stone texture with soft mineral movement - no two are ever the same.

These pieces are designed to bring that calm, sun-warmed feeling into your home… whether it’s on a bedside table, coffee table or dressing space.

Sometimes the smallest objects help create the most beautiful little moments at home.

The Desert Bloom collection is now available.

Why do we do this to ourselves?

We look at businesses that are 5, 10, 15 years ahead… and then panic because we’re not there yet.

We compare our early stage to someone else’s middle.

We want to rush.
We want to skip the awkward bit.
We want to fast-forward to the “it’s working” stage.

And then we try to do everything ourselves.

We don’t ask for help.
We don’t invest in support.
We tell ourselves we should be able to figure it out alone.

I’ve definitely done that.

But building something properly takes time.
It takes learning.
It takes being willing to say, “I actually don’t know what I’m doing here.”

And that’s not weakness.
It’s part of it.

Nomad & Nest is still in the early stages.
I’m still figuring things out.

I’m trying not to rush it.
Trying not to compare.
Trying to build it step by step instead of sprinting to a finish line that doesn’t even exist.

If you’re in the middle of building something too - you’re not behind.

You’re just building.

Back to the drawing board with my new collection and Nomad and Nest as a whole.
I’m determined to make this business the best it can be and what it deserves, so it’ll just have to take that little bit longer. Patience, Olivia 🤣

Yesterday I stepped out from behind my studio table and into something that felt… slightly uncomfortable.

I joined a branding workshop with .branding who is amazing at what she does.

Why did I do this?

Because making beautiful pieces isn’t enough.

If I want Nomad & Nest to grow - to approach retailers, to attract interior designers, to build a proper website - I need clarity.

Who is my ideal client really?
What do I want this brand to stand for?
How do I create consistency across photography, messaging, packaging?

It’s easy to sit at home and try to figure it all out alone.
But it’s also overwhelming navigating everything by yourself.

I didn’t want to guess anymore.

Being in a room with other brands at the same stage - all building, all doubting, all hoping, reminded me that this part is meant to feel daunting.

Growth usually does.

This isn’t just about logos or colours.
It’s about building something with intention and authenticity.

Behind the scenes of the scary but necessary steps.

This is the very beginning.

Not the highlight reel.
Not the “we made it” moment.
The actual early stage.

I’m building Nomad & Nest properly now - not just making pieces when I can, but creating a brand with intention.

Next step? A branding workshop.
- approaching retailers.
- building the website.
- professional photography.

It feels exciting.
And very terrifying 🤣

I don’t have a huge team.
I don’t have a warehouse.
I have a small studio table, big ideas, and a reason bigger than myself to make this work.

So I’ve decided to document it.

The wins.
The doubts.
The fails.
The tiny milestones that nobody sees.

If you’ve ever built something from scratch - or you’re in the middle of it - come with me.

This is Episode 1. 🤍
Let’s see where it goes.
