Calling all knitters and crocheters 🧶

I'm organising a special installation in partnership with Durham Markets and would love anyone who knits or crochets to get involved.

Please get in touch if you can help. Even if you can't help yourself, I would love it if you could share it far and wide, so lots of people can get involved with this special project 🙏🏻❤️

❤️ Calling All Knitters & Crocheters ❤️

This year, we’re creating something truly special for Remembrance Day… and we need your help to make it happen.

We’re aiming to create 12,600 knitted and crocheted poppies – one for every soldier of the Durham Light Infantry who lost their life during the World Wars.

These poppies will form two breathtaking canopy installations, suspended from our Market Hall entrance ramps. A sea of red to honour their sacrifice and ensure they are never forgotten.

🧶 Can you help?
Whether you’re a seasoned knitter, a crochet pro, part of a craft group, WI, or just fancy getting involved, we’d love you to be part of this.

✨ Templates will be available soon (for those who want them)
✨ But your own designs are very welcome too – every poppy is part of the story

📅 Deadline for completed poppies: Friday 16th October
(This gives us time to carefully stitch them onto military cam netting, ready for display)

I've been asked quite a few times now, especially by uni students who can't have open flames in their rooms, whether I can get in electric wax and oil burners 🪔

Your wish is my command! I have managed to source some and they are now in stock in the stall inside Durham Markets 🤩

They haven't been added to the website yet but if you would like one and can't get into Durham, I can post out to you. They are all £25 each 💚

OK, confession time... 😅
I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately.

The shop inside Durham Market Hall has been wonderfully busy. Between welcoming customers, unpacking deliveries, restocking shelves… and, let’s be honest, spending far too long chatting with my fabulous market neighbours about the latest gossip and which TV series we absolutely HAVE to watch 📺👀, socials may have slipped down the to-do list. 🙈

I feel very lucky to be busy doing what I love, surrounded by brilliant people… but it is nice to be back on here too 🫶

And what better way to return than with brand new stock by the utterly gorgeous Northern Soul Scents! 😍

Moody, nostalgic, comforting, witchy and fresh... these scents are absolutely stunning and have already been getting lots of love in the shop.
