People's Bookshop People's Bookshop Durham The People's Bookshop is an independent, radical bookshop in the heart of Durham City.

Dealing mainly in second-hand books, we aim to fill the gaps left behind by the headlong rush towards best-sellers, e-books and add-on sales. We believe that bookshops should reflect their communities and radical bookshops are an important part of the creation of a better world. If this were only about big ideas, it would be centred on the idea that 'another world is possible', but it is also about those little ideas, local histories and forgotten stories that are only preserved in the pages of actual, real books

INDEPENDENT BOOKSHOP DAY!🧡: This Saturday, the People’s Bookshop will be welcoming two authors into our shop! From 12-3pm, Karma Jamyang Palmo will be offering henna tattoos alongside her new poetry book, ‘Who Am I?’. From 1-3pm, Adam Bushnell will be showing several Viking historical artefacts to accompany his book, County Durham Folk Tales. Come along to support not just some local authors, but your local independent bookshop too 🧡

Come along to meet other participants and organisers, and find out how Political Education @ the People’s Bookshop will work. We will also be asking what people would like to see covered in the twice monthly sessions. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
The Social and intro event will begin at 4pm, and will run to around 6pm.
