Cinema starts long before the screen goes up. 🎬

Today was all about what happens behind the scenes. Pre-wire underway with Webro speaker cabling, alongside Kordz HDMI & RCA cabling, making sure the foundations are right before this room starts coming together.

Because when you’re building a dedicated cinema, the cables that disappear behind the walls are every bit as important as the kit you eventually see.

Some people see an empty field.

We see what’s coming. 👀

Back on site today with Tom & James on what is quite possibly our biggest smart home project to date.

First job: get the building site itself connected.

Starlink installed.
Ubiquiti site-wide WiFi going in.
And plenty of time spent planning the Loxone infrastructure before the real work begins.

Because this isn’t just a few smart lights and an app.

We’re talking intelligent lighting, heating & cooling, MVHR, energy monitoring, solar & battery integration, multi-room audio, security, access control and a network designed to hold the whole thing together.

And we’re thinking about all of it before there are even walls.

The best smart homes aren’t made smart at the end.

They’re designed smart from day one.

This one is going to be a monster. 🚀

You probably know what we do.

But you probably don’t know everything we do. 👀⚡

Most people know GB Connect for smart homes, security, Wi-Fi, AV and connectivity.

What a lot of people don’t know is that we also have an experienced in-house team of electricians.

This morning was a perfect example.

We attended a local builders merchant following a report of an issue with a junction box supplying the yard lighting.

Safe to say, it had seen better days. 😅

Once opened up, we found significant water ingress along with severe internal corrosion and damage. Definitely not something we were prepared to simply patch up and walk away from.

The damaged equipment was removed, the external connections were made safe and the fused spur was relocated inside the building, away from the elements.

While we were at it, we installed an integrated programmable timer for the yard lighting.

Easier for the team to use.
Better protected.
And no lights unnecessarily burning away when nobody’s there.

Safer. Smarter. More efficient. ⚡

Not every upgrade needs to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s simply about spotting a problem, fixing it properly and leaving the site better than you found it.
