Last week I was interviewed for one of the top fashion magazines in the UK and I will share it at the end of October 👌🏼

I was one of a handful of stylists chosen for a feature about teen confidence.

This is a subject I’m so passionate about, having struggled with my own confidence as a teen.

There is so much pressure on teens to look a certain way, have the same skincare routine as everyone and the same outfit. But the lack of individuality can lead to a loss of connection and identity.

Something I love, is working with teens to build their own style in a way that feels true and exciting to them.

The sooner they find their own sense of style confidence, the less they’ll feel the need to conform to trends.

✨ Glimmers ✨

Life has felt really tough lately and losing my cat Cindy last week broke my heart. She loved me unconditionally and we were so in tune with one another it was like we spoke the same language.

She came into our life after a loss 16 years ago. She was a little angel dressed in a tuxedo and she became my little shadow!

When I said goodbye to her last week I said “it’s not goodbye it’s see you again one day” and in the meantime I very much still feel her with me.

When life feels hard, it’s so important to lean on people. Friends aren’t mind readers and I reached out to mine last week. They can’t fix things but they can hold your hand even if it’s just in a daily message or voice note.

And as I move forward without my furry friend, I will be soaking up every glimmer…one of which was this sunshine on Brighton beach this morning.

🎧 Sound on 🎧 for the snippets of my guest appearance on the Nicky Campbell show on BBC Radio 5 Live today.

It was on all things “shoes”. The segment finished with a surprise caller from one of my clients who called to rave about her online shop with me!

Good luck to everyone getting their exam results today…I wanted to share some wisdom to those that didn’t get the grades they hoped for, or to those who generally struggle academically.

I didn’t do well at school and got an E in maths and an E in science. I scraped through with my other grades.

I didn’t go to university and started full time office work at 18 when most of my friends had gone off to uni.

At the age of 29 I started Styled By Susie as a hobby and the rest is history.

Grades don’t define you and you can do anything you want to do in life, with hard work, determination, love and a lot of coffee 😁 Maybe you’re not naturally academic and your path lies somewhere more creative.

However today looks for you, it’s only the beginning 🤍
