A big "Thank you !" to the Committee of the SAFAS Club in Busby for their welcome and their hospitality last Tuesday.
I demonstrated some designs to start off the club's season. Hope the raffle winners enjoyed their arrangements 🤞
Smashing sandwiches and cakes as a special treat at the end - thank you, ladies ! 🥪🍰🧁🍪☕️
Looking forward to the designs over the coming months.

I have included pictures below, each inspired by lines in Keats' poem :

"Days of mists..." (Parallel design with alliums, scabiosa, bunny tails, p***y willow, eucalyptus & silver grasses).

"Drowsed with the fume of poppies" (Linear symmetrical design in red/black/gold with poppy seed heads, "Tacazzi" magenta roses, black pampas grass, crimson antirrhinums, gold lotus seed heads, black mitsumata sticks, ruscus foliage)

"To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core" (Symmetrical basket display with coral roses, purple lisianthus, red solidago, purple trachelium, cypress, leather leaf & pumpkins).

"While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue" (Linear horizontal design using bleached mitsumata sticks, coral dahlias, white alliums, pink charmelias, ruscus & cream midelino sticks).

"And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease" (Triangular symmetrical arrangement with mini sunflowers "Sonja", "Peach Avalanche" roses, Anigoz "Gold Fever" kangaroo paw, solidago, antirrhinum "Potomac orange" snapdragons, cypress, ruscus.

Privileged to be asked to do September's demonstration for the SAFAS Club (Scottish Association of Flower Arranging Societies) in Busby.
This starts off the club's season and I'll be creating some designs inspired by Keats' beautiful poem. This is being held at the Giffnock Bowling Club, so any interested persons can come along on the night and get the chance to win one of the floral designs via the raffle 🌺🌻🪻👍

Decadent dahlias, beautiful "Aqua" roses, large pink bells of Campanula flowers, and white freesias for scent. A bold green border & wrap, to make all those pinks stand out ! 🥰

(P.S. For the lady who enquired about the wire gauge, it was a 2mm, however you could create the t-light holders with a narrower gauge wire if it is made from a stronger metal; it just depends on the wire's firmness versus flexibility👍🕯)
