Today's a good day to pre-order a signed and dedicated book and treat your future shelf...!

Medusa Gorgon's Bad Hair Day by Bethany Walker and Katie Abey publishes on Thursday and Beth will be with us on Friday morning for signing and crafts. If you like diary style books and you're interested in Greek mythology, this is the book for you. Think Lottie Brooks, with Greek mythology! Great for ages 8+. Link to order in comments.

Next up is Hari Kumar: The Race Day Disaster by Rashmi Sirdeshpande and Mamta Singh. Enjoyed Loki? This is another diary style book and Louie Stowell herself describes it as hilarious! Hari is a ten year old boy and Rashmi has created a relatable and hilarious series. Rashmi is with us on August 26th and you can order your signed and dedicated copy via the link in the comments.

Finally, we're offering the beautiful Independent Exclusive edition of The Ghost Leopard by Hannah Gold and I'm delighted to confirm that Hannah will be signing and dedicating this stunning book publishing in January. Link in comments!

My awesome friend Liz is the Rebel Rhymer in Residence with the Rebel Reading Society, and trust me, this poem is perfect for summer and the Year of Reading!

Liz is also the person who began our infamous staff toilet door graffiti. She watched the shop for me one Saturday when the lovely Anna Terreros-Martin visited to paint our window with The Friendly Mammoth and invited her to doodle on the door. And thus, the staff toilet graffiti door was born. We'll share a photo sometime!

Having a bit of a shuffle round. Nothing major, just trying to find room for everything and help books be discovered.

The non-fiction has moved to beside the fireplace and the graphic novels have moved along one bookcase. Early graphic novels aimed at ages 5+ have now been moved to the start of the early chapter books.

Popular series fiction (Tom Gates, Lottie Brooks, Percy Jackson etc) has been moved to the bookcase at the far end, where the non-fiction was.

The small bookcase backing on to the window is now being used to host stories in board book format. We were running out of space for board books and felt this case would help us to expand the range. The sensory books, interactive board books, buggy books and cloth books remain where they were.

Poetry and classics have now moved to sit alongside the gifty books.

It's also been an epic delivery day with over 300 books arriving in. Why not pop in and explore?

The long and short of it is, we need a bigger bookshop!
