Mr Gifts Emporium – Proud to Support Friends of Eastbourne Seafront

I met with Gaynor Sedgwick today so I could present her with our latest donation of £500 to Friends of Eastbourne Seafront, raised entirely through the sale of single-use carrier bags in our shop.

We have always believed that money raised from carrier bag sales should be put to good use locally, helping our town and seafront that our businesses, our customers and so many visitors enjoy.

We greatly appreciate the selfless work carried out by the volunteers of Friends of Eastbourne Seafront and are always happy to support this very worthwhile cause.

This latest £500 donation brings the total amount donated to Friends of Eastbourne Seafront and Friends of Eastbourne Bandstand to £1,300 since 2022.

A huge thank you to Gaynor and everyone involved for the time and effort they give to improving, maintaining and supporting our amazing seafront.

£500 donated — and every penny came from the sale of single use carrier bags.

Twenty-five Eastbourne restaurants have received a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2026—and four of them are right here in Victoria Place:

This is not a ranking or a “top 10” list. Each restaurant has received a Travellers’ Choice Award based on the reviews and experiences shared by its customers.

Having four of Eastbourne’s 25 award-winning restaurants in one area is a tremendous achievement and further establishes Victoria Place as one of the town’s leading dining destinations.

Congratulations to the owners and hardworking teams behind all four restaurants. This recognition is thoroughly deserved and something Victoria Place—and Eastbourne as a whole—can be extremely proud of.

Tourists and visitors who want to take a little reminder of Eastbourne home with them shouldn’t have to pay a high price for the most basic of souvenirs.

A tea towel, fridge magnet, a pen, a keyring or a simple keepsake might only be a small purchase, but it can become a lasting reminder of a great day or holiday in our town.

At Mr Gifts, we’ve always believed these everyday souvenirs should be affordable.

Our prices are the same for everyone, all year round — we don’t increase them for the summer season and we don’t believe visitors should pay more simply because they’re tourists.

And if our approach has inspired even one other gift shop to look at their prices and make its basic souvenirs more affordable, then we consider that a win.
