If you’re new here, hello and thank you for following Poema, my creative passion, centred around my Christian faith. ✝️
Back in 2011, God spoke the word ‘poema’ into my heart. It is, apparently, the Latin translation of the word used in Ancient Greek for ‘I create’ and in Ephesians 2:10, in the Bible, it is the word translated as ‘masterpiece’ or ‘work of art’. 🎨
2011 was at a time when I believe God was directing me into a more creative form of worshiping Him.🙏
A time when I was coming to a realisation that God has given me this ability to make things which bring encouragement and a smile to my friends’ faces. Back then, I would paint and sew gifts and to use the words of Eric Liddell, portrayed in the film, Chariots of Fire “…I feel His pleasure.” 🎨🪡🧵
Even back then, I knew I wanted scripture to be the driving force of my creativity, hence my strapline ‘with the Word of God at the Heart’. It’s my mission statement and the compass for the direction of Poema.
Fast forward a few years and a significant season of bereavement. I felt the urge to discover something exciting. I didn’t know what that would be but I knew I needed to find it. My search led me to jewellery making and I found myself on a silver clay taster class.✨
I loved it! ♥️
So much that I immediately signed up for a longer six week class soon after. I was pretty much hooked from the get-go!🔥⚒️
That was in 2018 and since then, I have invested in further courses, materials, a whole array of tools (there’s still more I’d love to make space for!!) and after some bedroom reshuffling during lockdown, I have sole use of a little room in our home (thanks fam🥰❤️!) dedicated to making Handcrafted Jewellery with the Word of God at the Heart.♥️
Thats how it began, and who knows where it will take me! 🤔😁🙏
