Thank you to all our customers, old and new. Thank you to everyone who has come in over the last three weeks to support us in our closing down sale. Thank you for all the lovely comments and conversations we have had, they have meant so much to us. Thank you for all the cards and gifts we have been given. We will miss you all and will miss our lovely shop as much as you have told us you will miss us. However we will hopefully reopen our doors late November as a Christmas pop up shop. So watch this space for updates nearer the time!

Today is our last day of being open on the High Street. Please come in and say goodbye, grab yourself a bargain, 25% off everything. Hopefully we will see you again in December when we are potentially going to reopen as a pop up shop. It will be cash only as I have terminated our card machine contract and will be returning it next week.

There are just 3 shopping days to go until we close our doors. We have had our final delivery yesterday afternoon, so the card racks have been restocked. Bring your list of birthdays, anniversaries etc. with you and stock up before we close.

Having been overwhelmed by demand for our lovely cards, I just wanted to let you all know, we had a top up delivery from Ling yesterday and have a big delivery coming in this afternoon.So those empty card racks are being replenished. There is still time to stock up before we close our doors on Saturday.

Can anyone help us to continue the collection of milk bottle tops for Great Ormond Street Hospital? Once we are closed, Costa are happy to be the collection point. We need a volunteer to take them to the drop off point in Hurst Green, Oxted or Westerham. It is usually one black sack per week, sometimes two.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who came into the shop this past week. We’ve had an amazing week. So many good wishes for our future. It’s been an emotional roller coaster for me personally. Hoping to see many more of you over the next two weeks. We are expecting a few deliveries in the week so the card racks will be restocked. We’ve been taken aback by the number of cards we’ve sold - you have been so organised coming in with lists of all the cards you’ll need to see you to the end of the year! As some of you have already heard, we are looking into the possibility of opening a Christmas Pop Up Shop later in the year.

After much consideration, it is with great regret that I have to announce Something Special will be closing on Saturday 11th July. Ever increasing operating costs and diminishing footfall on the High Street has forced us to take this decision. We have been here for 27 years and are very grateful to everyone has supported us. From Tuesday we will be offering 25% off all purchases but please note we will be introducing a £5 minimum card transaction. So please bring cash for smaller purchases.
