Exchange For Change has confirmed the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) Return Handling Fees (RHF) ahead of the October 2027 launch.

As detailed in their latest announcement, manual return points will receive 3p per container, while automatic points receive up to 5p. For smaller rural businesses, this 3p manual fee is a critical factor in deciding whether to invest in a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) or stick to a manual take-back setup.

With a proposed £6,000 grant scheme for RVMs and separate exemption options being explored, decisions need to be made soon so you can prepare.
