So much love, care, time and effort has gone into bringing this all together, it is wonderful to now be able to share our curated collections with anyone who can't make it into the bookshop. We also think it's a fab gift for a book lover!

Thank you Scottish Field for sharing the news that Malachy Tallack will be in-store for the publication of his new book, Illuminated by Water, this Thursday. Not simply a book about fishing, this is a wonderful mix of memoir, social history and philosophy, as well as reminiscences of times spent with friends and family, and the joy of time spent in nature. Given that our bookshop premises was formerly a fishing tackle shop - Mike's Tackle was part of the fabric of Portobello High Street for years - it feels like the perfect setting for this special event. The writer will be in conversation with artist and writer Christina Riley.

What a wonderful evening we had on Friday listening to Rebecca Solnit in conversation with Chitra Ramaswamy. Sitting in the audience listening to these two fabulous writers discuss Rebecca's last two Books, Orwell's Roses and Recollections of My Non-Existence, and hearing about Rebecca's life as a writer, how it took form, shape and substance, felt like a true privilege and an experience not to be forgotten. A wonderful in-person event. Were you there?
