Our neighbourhood roadworks are packing up just in time.
THE SHOP WILL BE OPEN SOME MORE DAYS !
We'll have the retail shop open (not for valuations) on the following days;
Monday 14th September 10am-4pm
Saturday 19th September 2pm-6pm
Wednesday 23rd September 10am-4pm.
(There will also be dates in October, but not many, and probably nothing after that.)
Come and have a last chance to look over our remaining stock. There's also some new stock that hasn't been seen before. And there's some unsold auction lots now marked at fixed prices.
We'll put more posts here, and add information on our website over the coming days.

I've been quite quiet on here for a while, but we've not been sitting about doing nothing.
We have plans in hand for days for the shop to be open in September - more news about that in due course - and we'll be attending South West Congress and Scotex in September and October (again, more details later).
In the meantime, here's a bit of personal news.
You may or may not know that I do a bit of running, so along with my good running buddy Kate Crichton we entered the "Lakeland 50" Ultra-Marathon. We started specific training in September last year and worked at it over the following months (except for the small interruption of me having emergency surgery !).
So - just under a fortnight ago the two of us completed our first ever event of this size. Fifty miles (80km) over Lake District Fells and through Lakeland Dales, taking in almost 3,000m of ascents. The route was not marked and we each had to carry our own equipment. It kicked of at 10am on the Saturday and there was a final target cut-off of 24 hours. We were delighted to come in with a time of 20hrs 26mins, totally soaked from the overnight rain, but still moving fairly normally, and still speaking to each other.
It was a stunning event - the route's scenery, the general organisation, the volunteers at the checkpoints, and the other participants made it memorable.
We've yet to discuss whether we want to do another ever again :-)

This time tomorrow our timed online stock clearance auction will be in full swing - about 3 hours into the 15+ hours the whole thing will take.
Here's a selection of ten lots. They are all currently available at £1 each. None of them have bids yet - and none of them have "watchers". With 3,700+ lots there will be some that people miss. There's still a few hundred like this which have no bids and no watchers. Get in there !

This is a special video preview of lot 1002 from our timed online auction on Monday 30th March. Clearly there's not the time to do this for every lot, but hopefully this gives you some insight of how one of our descriptions translates into actual content.

Here's a wee video we prepared for the Philatelic Traders Society, who support their members by putting out content like this.

Here's eight lots from Monday's auction. Each is currently sitting with no bids *, and each has a reserve of just one pound. There's time yet for bids to come in, and for competition to start on some of these, but there's so much stuff in this auction there's bound to be bargains going. You could have fun for £20 ! (See how many lots you can pick up for a pound each ?)
* At time of writing.
