While the end of trade date is confirmed to be on Saturday 30th of May, please note the following important dates when we will be closed due to staff shortage. To our valued customers and friends,

After a long period of consultation, the Board of Trustees has confirmed their decision to close the Dunfermline and Edinburgh branches of The Faith Mission Bookshops and Cafés. The end of business date has been set for the Saturday 30th of May 2026.
Although the details are still unknown and the negotiations still ongoing, we are now able to confirm that a Christian literature retailer has stepped forward and will take over to prevent the ministry to disappear.

As we move towards the closing date, we are most likely to be stretched on staff and goods.
In effect, the Edinburgh bookshop will be closed tomorrow Friday 08th of May, but should reopen on Saturday the 9th from 9:30am to 15:30.
And although the café will be running with a reduced menu, it will be open on both days from 9:30am to 15:30.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused as we share your disappointment and sadness over the situation as a whole.

To our valued customers, dear friends, as some of you might already now, a final decision has now been made by the Board of Trustees following a long period of consultation. Indeed, The Faith Mission has decided to close their Dunfermline and Edinburgh branches. The latter has a provisional end of business date set up for Saturday the 30th of May 2026. Although negotiations are still ongoing, we can confidently confirm that a Christian literature ministry will survive under new management as a partner retailer has come forward to ensure its continuation. In the current context, we are most likely to face staff and stock issues as we approach the closing date. For these reasons, we inform you that the bookshop will be closed tomorrow Friday 08th of May but should reopen 9:30-15:30 on Saturday 09th. Although running with a reduced menu, the café will stay open 9:30-15:30 on both days. We apologise for any inconvenience as we share your disappointment and sadness about the situation as a whole. Thank you again for your unwavering loyalty, support and patience. Please keep us in your prayers as we all are progressively made redundant and as we face new challenges. Thank you for your attention.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter celebration. Sadly, facing unforeseen understaffing, I am sorry to let you know that the café will be closed from 11:30 today Thursday 09/04/2026. I do apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment and thank you for your understanding.
