🌟Community Book Pledge - Elsenham C of E Primary School🌟

Elsenham Primary School are currently in the process of setting up a Well Being/ Sensory room at the school.

This is to benefit all children at the school especially those children with SEN (Special Educational Needs)
The room will be equipped with bubble tubes, weighted blankets, lights etc but the children have also expressed that they would like some books especially for the Well being room.

This room will also be accessible to any child who would like some quiet time or chill out time.

I’m asking any size businesses if they would be able to donate £10 or more to be able to put some of our amazing books and Jigsaws into this wonderful room.

If more than £250 is raised Usborne will add a further 30% in FREE books and if more than £600 is raised Usborne will add a further 60% in FREE books!!

🎄 Elsenham Christmas Market!!
I will be there with my Usborne books along with over 40 stall holders.
Majority of these are all small local businesses so please come along to show your support.
I will be in the Village Hall attached to the school, there are other stalls at memorial hall.

☀️Summer Reading Challenge

During the summer months when children are typically away from formal schooling, a ‘slide’ in children’s reading abilities can occur. Any skill which is learnt, also needs to be practiced to ensure ongoing proficiency in the skill. The idea behind the challenge is to enable children to continue to develop a love of reading for pleasure, which in turn will allow children to continue to practice their reading in a fun and engaging way.
Over the course of the challenge, children are encouraged to read - or listen to - as many stories, rhymes, poems and any kind of writing they can access in return for sponsorship from friends, neighbours and relatives. The aim of the challenge is to read/listen to 200 minutes over 2 weeks, which this can be recorded on your child’s Reading/Listening tracker.
All sponsorship money raised can be used to order your child (children) their reward books - plus they'll receive an extra 10% from me! For example, they raise £50 sponsorship, they can select £55 of reward books from our fabulous range!
The challenge will be run through a private Facebook Group where I will be posting extra activities you can get involved with over the summer, encouraging everyone to share how they are getting on and also, we will also be running a Reading/Listening Bingo.
If you choose to register you will be given an activity pack!!

My name is Kelly and I’m an independent Usborne Organiser!
I’m married to Rob (10 yrs in June!) and we have two children Joshua 13 and Poppy 6.
I’m originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands but moved over to the UK in 2006, where I carried on with my nursery nursing career which I had been doing for 10 yrs prior to leaving Jersey.
After having both my children I decided I didn’t want to go back to work full time and because I have a disability I was finding nursery work increasingly difficult physically. I volunteered at our local primary school where I listened to the children read and helped with outings etc which I loved, then COVID-19 struck so all that came to a halt.
I was scrolling through Facebook (as you do!) and came across a post about joining Usborne Books. That was last November and I’m now trying to grow my business. I’ve raised money for local charities and local schools to give them free books, which is amazing!!
My business fits around my lifestyle and family which means I’m there for Joshua and Poppy more.
Joshua has autism and Poppy dyspraxia, so they both have their little daily challenges which you wouldn’t know if you met them but by being at home I feel I can support them more.

10 Reasons Why I love Usborne

🌸 I have made some wonderful new friends, who are constantly there to support me (we also have a good giggle together!
🌸 I get to work with schools and nurseries, organising fantastic events (virtually atm) to get the setting free books!!
🌸 I get lots of free books for my family, which they have loved.
🌸 It’s something for me.. It’s my happy place as I honestly love what I do!!
🌸 I love it when a customer sends me photos of their children enjoying the books or a certain book has helped their child through a difficult time.
🌸 I get access to some amazing free training sessions to help me make the best of my business.
🌸 I’ve done a couple of fundraising events, raising money to buy books for adults with learning disabilities and raising money for school settings so they can get free books!!
🌸 There are incentives that you can do but these are entirely optional, it’s your business your way.
🌸 It’s made such a difference to my confidence...
🌸 My children love helping me, leaflet dropping or sorting out an delivery... they are very proud of their mummy!!
