STAR TREK!
That title will mean very little to some people...
But for others...it means a lot :-)

If you have a Star Trek fan in your life, you might be iterested to know that I have a limited number of Star Trek space ship models available to purchase - just in time for Christmas. Or maybe you're looking to complete your collection. Have a look at the photos and see if any of these models have your name on them.

There is only one of each model. Once they're gone, they're gone.

Happy Holidays everyone! To help celebrate the season, we've added a bunch of delicious new sweets to Ely's St. Mary's Sweet Shop lineup. Feast your eyes on these. Better yet: come visit us from noon to 5pm, (Saturdays, and weekdays next week up to Christmas Eve when we'll close early) to take home some traditional British Sweets for the holidays. Sold by weight from the jars - get a little or a lot, it's up to you!

Gypsy, The Broadway Musical
Before The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent or The Mickey Mouse Club on TV, there was vaudeville. This is the story of how two little girls followed their mother’s dreams to vaudeville stages all over America to become stars. Baby June could sing, dance, turn cartwheels and brighten an auditorium with her smile. Her sister Louise wasn’t as talented, it was said. But when Louise grew up, she surprised them all by becoming a glamourous star!
No one was surprised more than the girls’ mother, Rose. And this is her story, too – a musical fable about the ultimate stage mother.
This production is suitable for ages 12 and over.

Twin Peaks enthusiasts!
I have a limited number of novelty 'Great Northern Hotel' key fobs for sale. You remember the Great Northern, right? It's the hotel where Agent Dale Cooper stayed while he worked on unraveling the case of Laura Palmer's murder. How did I come up with the idea of featuring Twin Peaks stuff? A customer came into the shop recently and commented that my accent sounded just like Twin Peaks. I am in fact from a town only about 30 minutes drive from the real location of Twin Peaks: the town of Snoqualmie, Washington State. So I accept the compliment 😁

These key fobs look just like the ones from before the days of boring hotel electrical key cards.

About these retro key fobs:
- 9cm long
- 4.5cm wide
- Brass coloured split key ring
- Forest green colour (naturally!)
- Sturdy plastic
- Text in gold reads: 'THE GREAT NORTHERN HOTEL, TWIN PEAKS, WA, (Rm #) 315 (Cooper's room), DROP IN ANY MAIL BOX, WE GUARANTEE POSTAGE'. The reverse reads: 'CLEAN PLACE, REASONABLY PRICED'.

The fobs themselves are also reasonably priced at £2 each.
You supply the keys.

My new hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm.

Except for Friday 28 March, when I'll be closing at 2:30 pm.

As you know, the St. Mary's Sweet Shop in Ely is now open more days. AND we're greatly increasing our line of traditional English sweets.

Hello fans of traditional sweets! Have I got great news for you! The St. Mary's Sweet Shop at 1a St Mary's Sreet, Ely is now open five days a week from Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. I'm upgrading my sweets offerings to include more of the things you crave. And I'm also offering a selection of Sci-Fi collectables for sale.
Take advance of our new expanded hours and have a look around. Delicious sweets in jars and tubs, great conversation and now, collectables. Theatre, movies, SCiFi and airplanes (and of course sweets) all spoken here. See ya soon!

My wonderful DeeDee and I back-stage at The Maltings, Ely, preparing to go on-stage together for the Saturday afternoon matinee in Noel Coward's, 'Present Laughter' - an Ely Amateur Theatre production. We played Morris (DeeDee) and Henry, a couple of highly ambitious, 'take no prisoners' stage producers. A truly inspired (and a terribly, terribly intricate) comedy by one of the last century's most gifted English playwrights. A fun production where we had the licence to do some proper 'chewing on the scenery'. How about my huge, Producer glasses and "look-at-me, look-at-me" 'gold rings'? The show was very well-received and well-attended. But the best thing was being able to share three substantial scenes with my lovely, talented and beautiful Soulmate.
Thanks Ely ADS for inviting the both of us to take part in such a great project! And thanks especially to DeeDee/Morris for being the perfect foil for my character's clumsy plotting and attitudinizing.
