These two are now framed and all ready for the artisan market at haddenhamartscentre tomorrow 10am - 3pm.

I’m going to be giving a 10% discount on all original artwork just for the day so hopefully some of my work will find new homes.

I’ve been working on this for a couple of days. It’s the first time I’ve used this sort of board so it’s been interesting. Also decided to add some sort of background in the spirit of my recent venture into experimentation.

Think I will still make a few changes but for all intents and purposes I’m calling it quits and will move on to one of the other four pieces I have underway. Perhaps it’s back to finishing the Kingfisher.

It’s not a bad job 😂

Next piece is now underway despite the terrible light in my studio today 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I am waiting for some new supplies to arrive so this one may not get completed in one go but sometimes it’s fun to have some variety to work on at the same time

Well it’s been a great week of experimenting.

Today I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone so keeping it loose and playing a bit with colour. Not mastered it but I’ve loved every second and will do similar again.

Also enjoying painting horses again (my favourite animal).

Something a little different from me this morning, sorry to those connected to my personal socials as well, I don’t mean to bombard you. But here it goes…

I will be running the Manchester Marathon this year in memory of my mother in law Margaret who we lost to colon cancer in 2024. Cancer has also affected a number of other family members and friends so I want to raise as much as I can for this important cause.

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose!

Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/lucys-giving-page-37290

Managed to hurt my hand at the weekend which has given me the perfect excuse to just experiment rather than produce finished work.

I’ve I’ve been experimenting with marbling spray, some areas work some don’t but I’ve learned a lot and had some fun in the process.

Another day working on the shire horse.

Had a total rethink about the background because I was loosing the horse in certain lights. Next job is to blend the edges again and work another layer of highlights in. Nearly there now.

Ok, so I made rapid progress today with the next project.

I painted the background to this and drew the outline well over a year ago (possibly getting closer to two years). Since then it’s sat it the corner of my studio, been in a pile of random unfinished work and then acted as a size guide for a framer for another painting.

Today was the day I felt it time to dust it off and continue, still a way to go but let’s see if I can finish it this time round.

I’ve been getting back into the swing of things after time away from painting. It’s been awhile since I’ve painted a fox so I’ve really enjoyed this one.

Now I have to decide how to mount it and whether I want to frame as well…. The pressure 😂

It’s been weeks since I’ve been in my studio, I will admit it has been hard today to settle into anything meaningful so decided I would just experiment for a bit.

One is a rough miniature of a puffin painting I’ve been planning to see if it would work and the second was just a bit of fun with metallics. Hopefully tomorrow I will be more focused and productive.

It’s been a while since I posted, I had some timeout over Christmas but really only been working on commissions. These two went to their homes today.

The Frenchie was a challenge but a good one and I loved panting a long haired dog. It’s been a good few weeks work but hopefully they will be loved.
