The car speaks for itself. It has won two consecutive championships (2024 & 2025), won Best Prepared Car in 2025, set lap records, achieved fastest laps, secured pole positions, and has been one of the most reliable cars on the grid.

Thor Tulloh purchased the car and began a new journey, instantly achieving his best results after competing in Locost for many years. In Round 1, he secured double pole position and two race wins. Since then, the car has led many races, claimed multiple podium finishes, and has most recently finished 3rd at Cadwell Park.

With a recent engine rebuild carried out by myself, with a new block, pistons, berings, crank grind, new intake and ex seats, valve springs and so much more!!

It’s come with very little surprise…..

After the build, we fitted the new engine and was more than satisfied with the outcome!

In rolling road photo order,

(All with healthy compression and leak down)

🟡 Yellow (Engine) 82,000 miles.

🟤 Brown (Engine) 66,000 miles.

🔵 Blue (engine) 57,000 miles.

🔴 Red (engine) Brand new!

From picking the best of two drop in engines vs new, It picks up over 10ftlbs of torque at 2700rpm and carries 10hp the whole way till levelling off to 5.3 peak horsepower.
In a one make series…. It’s what makes all the difference!

Thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck into this rebuild!
(Or restoration! 🥴😆)

It’s a BP6D Mazda engine for the Ma7da Locost series and will be put on the dyno in just a few weeks.

The customer wants reliability with increased performance, looks, and to know exactly what’s in his engine bay! Many of these ma7da’s are using donor engines straight from the road going car and I will let you decide based on the “before” pictures if you would put that in your race car! 😉

Luke Stokes scored his first podium in the Yokohama Locost Championship at Snetterton. The driver in his second season of racing celebrated his 37th birthday by finishing third two days later in race three of the weekend in the ex-Alan Harman car.

The year has shot by…..

but was always the plan from the start, building and putting out higher standards of locost is what we do and here is another prime example, the car has asked for nothing all season, it’s passed full engine checks, weight, ride hights and more…
