🌿 RELAX AND RESTORE 🌿

This Sunday morning, it is my pleasure to introduce somebody a little different to the collective. Please welcome Emma of 🤩🙌🏻🎉

“I’m a mum of five and becoming a mother is where my journey to finding myself began.
Inner self work, including relationships with my own body and mind, is what put me on the path to help, heal and soothe those I touch with massage therapy. I qualified 7 years ago and have been practising ever since.
At times over the last year, the pandemic and stresses of life became too much. I really missed and craved human connection and out of this was born.
I’m very passionate and determined- I hope to help anyone that comes to me for massage treatment to feel more self fulfilled and their bodies relieved, reenergised and at peace.
My vision is to create a space for others to find self peace, stillness and belonging.
Set within yoga studio on the outskirts of Exeter, the Therapy Pod is a little haven of escapism and tranquility.”

My massage with Emma was exactly this; healing, tranquil and reenergising. The opportunity to surrender completely and exist only in the moment was restorative and much needed. When life is as busy as it always is, we cannot underestimate the value of being nourished and cared for by another. At Emma has created a sanctuary of peace for us to relax and reset. I cannot recommend her highly enough 🥰

Give her a follow, show her some love, and book yourself a massage- you’ll be grateful, I promise 🙏

🏖 LIFE’S A BEACH 🏖

As the nights are drawing in, it is only right that we light ALL the candles in our houses and celebrate the warmth and goodness of a cosy Autumn evening. With that in mind, please welcome your newest collective member- chandler Lynn of 🌿🕯

“Beach House Botanics launched in 2017 and is based on the East Devon coast in Exmouth. The inspiration for the brand comes from the beautiful Devon coast and countryside. Life long candle addict, founder and maker Lynn, started making candles using only essential oils due to being a chronic migraine sufferer. She found that synthetic fragrance oils would make her migraines worse. After lots of research and testing, Beach House Botanics was founded. All the products are hand poured in small batches and the range now includes candles, melts and atmosphere & linen mists.”

Lynn’s fragrances are fresh, bright and herby. Perfect for clearing your head of aches, pains and fuzziness. With gorgeous branding and a wide range of products, Beach House Botanics is certainly the place to go for self-care treats as well as lovely gifts. But will it be pPatchouli and Basil or Pine needle and Sandlewood!?! Ok I’ll have both 🙌🏻

Welcome to the collective Lynn 💙 let’s show her some Quayside love guys ☺️

🪵 THE WOOD WIFE 🪵

Happy Saturday everyone!!!
I hope you all have some cosy plans for this wet and wild Autumn day. Here to get you started is another new member of the collective. Please welcome Tasha of 🍁🍂🍁

“I’m a red headed Devon bumpkin using wood as my medium to create bowls, planters, vases & vessels. Splashing colours into each piece, all my colours are inspired by my landscape. I’m very excited about using chemical free and sustainable wood finishes like mineral paints and beeswax 😀”

I love Tasha’s chunky, original designs and the colour splash gives her work a superbly modern twist. As always, we love anything with an eco slant so it’s great to hear about her conscious choices when it comes to materials. Give her a follow to keep up to date with her creations and enjoy her charmingly adult sense of humour (you’ll see what I mean). Tasha’s work is also stocked in the 👏🏼

Welcome to the collective 🙌🏽 we are chuffed to have you!

🌸 SWEET PEA 🌸

This evening I am pleased to introduce Annabel of as the next member of our little collective 🥰

Annabel has loved drawing, colour and patterns in nature from a young age. Her design degree helped her gain pattern making skills to create fabrics for furnishings and fashion. These are botanical or abstract, quite ethereal, sometimes kaleidoscopic with an art nouveau slant. Recently she has honed in on hedgerow and seaweeds of North Devon coastline.
She loves to use traditional printmaking techniques and fuse with digital technology.
Some fabrics are screen and blockprinted.
Original prints in pen and ink, watercolour are also available.

From the foxgloves of our home hedgerows to the sweet peas of my dad’s garden, Annabel’s illustrations are charming and familiar. I love the delicacy of her designs and that kaleidoscope effect is most excellent. Please show Annabel and her work the love it deserves this evening!

Welcome to the collective Annabel 🤩

⚓️ THROWBACK ⚓️

Can you believe it?! A month ago today we were doing this!!

I have to say, so much has happened in the interim that it feels like longer 😅 but what a day it was and so many happy memories. Fingers crossed we won’t have to wait too much longer for more of this goodness 🤞🏽🤞🏿🤞🏻

🌊 GOOD TIDINGS 🌊

Well looks what’s washed ashore this morning! Please welcome to the collective, the wonderful Lynette of 🐚💙🐚

“Hiya, I'm Lynette and I live in Exeter. I started making jewellery from a very young age, in Cornwall. I learnt Silversmithing from my dad and started Seaside Secrets in October 2020. I'm on a Misson to make eco friendly beach jewellery and educate people about the importance of recycling, reusing and living plastic free. I collect my beach treasures with my two children aged 2 and 4. I use recycled silver in all of my work and I make sure that my whole business is eco friendly. I now stock my jewellery in three shops and have my own website which is very exciting! Thank you so much for checking out my work ###”

I love Lynette’s ammonites and the little cluster of shells that surround some of her pendants. Her pieces truly are mermaid worthy. Welcome to the collective Lynette, we are thrilled to have you!

🦚 A RIOT OF COLOUR 🦚

“I’m an Exeter based freelance designer & illustrator with my own range of homewares. I sell through shops, markets & my website as well as working with clients including The National Trust. I also have two young sons so between them & my business, I’m kept permanently on my toes!”

🧘🏽‍♀️ ECO-WARRIOR 2 🧘🏽‍♀️

This morning I’m so excited to introduce Alex of .flora who is the newest member of the collective. Check out her gorgeous exercise gear!

“I’m Alex, I created Raw Flora. I make all of our garments by hand on the coast of South Devon 🌊

Everything I make is produced ethically and sustainably. Using recycled or organic materials, my favourite being our Recycled Nylon that’s been retracted from abandoned fishing nets they’ve picked up from the bottom of the ocean.

I design the garments with small pieces to use up off cuts and all of our scrunchies/head wear is also made from off cuts.

…and as the world needs trees: I work with the wonderful, not-for-profit, One Tree Planted to have one tree planted across the globe for every order placed with us 🌳”

What an epic amount of goodness, all in one place! I’ve already bagged myself some of Alex’s leggings (cut to my specific length, might I add) and I can’t take my eyes off those tops too. Yogis, runners, gym bunnies; whatever your preferred activity, do it in Raw Flora and feel the power! Welcome Alex and thanks for joining us 🌻

⏳ MNEMOSYNE ⏳

It seems fitting this morning to give a nod to Mnemosyne, the Greek goddess of memory, when introducing the newest member of the collective. Please welcome the enormously talented Vince of 💀 swipe for a tantalising taste of his V cool artwork.

“Memori Prints is a graphic designer who makes limited edition screen prints from his home studio and Common Sense Studio in Plymouth. He Utilises his design background to combine vibrant colours, patterns and striking images.

Memori Prints is all about treasuring memories. In this modern world many of our memories are digital. Compressed mp3s, jpegs, social media accounts... We miss making, doing, writing a letter, talking, interacting, walking and swimming. We don't want mass produced items which are forgotten and end up in land fill or polluting our oceans. We want items which are kept, built to last, treasured and passed on. We want books, vinyl records, paintings, prints, photos, works of art, memories... We are not living in the past we are just living.”

I couldn’t agree more with this sentiment. Vince’s artwork would certainly make a striking addition to any collection and something to be proud of. But which one would you choose?!

Welcome to the collective Vince, it is a real treat to have you with us 🙌🏻

⚒ WONKY WAYS ⚒

What a treat it is to be able to introduce the newest member of the collective, Soph of .wonkysilver 🎊

“I’m Sophie May, a country bumpkin living deep in the south west with my partner, my little boy and my four fur familiars. I set up my little business, Wonky Silver, earlier this year in a bid to keep my brain busy (also realised I have far too much jewellery and can’t rationalise making myself anymore, so I thought I’d share my creations with you beautiful creatures).

I’ve always been a lover of shiny things and have always found myself getting drawn in by silver jewellery and pretty stones, in true corvid fashion. From buying copious amounts of costume jewellery from charity shops and jumble sales as a kid, to spending my first ever proper wages on beautiful silver rings and pendants from little indie market stalls, it’s rare to see me without a fist full of metal on each of my hands.

My mumma bought me a silver clay kit a few Christmases back and I was instantly hooked. I then started watching silversmithing videos and teaching myself simple techniques and now...here I am.

Still early days but I’m constantly learning and adapting. Continuously inspired by ancient treasures and all things natural and witchy, working specifically with silver and semi-precious stones.

When I’m not hammering away at my workbench, I’m either working my main job at the local pre-school, adventuring around my natural habitat with my boys or filling my boots with good music, food and beer. Anyways, I hope my jewellery can bring the same amount of joy into your life as I get from creating it. Big loves, Soph. X”

I love the anachronistic character of Soph’s pieces. They truly do look like they have been hidden in the earth for centuries and have recently been rediscovered. Luckily for us, these pieces are destined for fingers and necks rather than museum cases. I’m particularly fond of those stacking rings.

Welcome Soph! Thank you for joining us 🥰 let’s show her some love guys 🥳

🐮 GOOD MOONING 🐮

It’s a Misty morning over here in East Devon but these designs are as bright as ever. Please welcome our newest member of the collective, Ash of 🥳

“I’m Ash, I make handmade children’s clothing from my family home in Exeter, where I live with my husband and 2 young children. I love colour and quirkiness, and my clothing is designed to be fun, funky and a little bit different from what you’d normally find.
I use a range of carefully chosen exclusive fabrics so you won’t find these designs anywhere else!”

I know what you’re thinking; can you do some adult sizes please 😂 that highland cow fabric is just to die for! So let’s show Ash some love and usher her into the gang in style. Welcome Ash!

🐳 WHALECOME 🐳

Please put your flippers together and give a very warm Quay Side Collective welcome to Kat of .and.the.whale 🐋 swipe to check out some of her super funky jewellery!

“Hello, I'm Kat from Tula and the Whale and I love colour, wild swimming and upcycling materials.

The jewellery and accessories I make are all made by my hands in South Devon. I take leather offcuts from other crafters that would otherwise go into the bin and make bright, colourful and striking pieces. Because I work with offcuts, a lot of my pieces are one of a kind.

I also use vegan leathers that have been sustainably grown, power my workshop with renewable energy, and have plastic free and recycled packaging.

I'm so happy to be part of the indie business community, it's a pleasure to connect with other creatives.

Besides colour and environment, I also love gin.”

I love Kat’s bold designs and bright colours, as well as her upcycling ethos. I definitely have my eye on some of those lightening bolts ⚡️ which ones are your favourites?!

Welcome Kat!
