Rockbeare Manor is one of the most stunning venues to photograph, and even on a grey, windy summer’s day, it was still filled with light and warmth.
When I arrived, Sabrina was getting ready in the drawing room with her girls, her mum, and daughters Harmony and Summer. The room was full of laughter and excitement, with two of Sabrina’s friends taking care of hair styling, something I always love to see, as it makes those preparations even more personal and meaningful.
Meanwhile, James and his boys were getting ready in the billiard room before everyone came together for a lovely ceremony.
The weather kindly gave us a brief dry spell afterwards, so we dashed outside for confetti before retreating back indoors for drinks. Rockbeare offers so many beautiful spaces, and we made the most of them throughout the day, from group photos around the house, to romantic portraits on the staircase, and even using the charming outdoor room that’s perfect when the weather isn’t quite behaving.
Later, we ventured into the wildflowers while the rain held off, capturing some gorgeous portraits with Rockbeare standing proudly in the background.
One of my favourite moments of the day perfectly summed up family life. As any parent getting married will know, family photos don’t always go exactly to plan! Instead of picture-perfect poses, they spent a memorable ten minutes preventing their son from launching himself headfirst into the pond after a stick he’d become very attached to. Real life, real memories, and honestly, some of the moments that make a wedding day totally yours.
The evening kicked off with a first dance, followed by a mother-and-daughter dance, before the dance floor filled.
