As some of you will know; we are about to celebrate 2 years of 12Bar! We managed to secure some special titles for anyone looking to add to their collection!
Including a '78 pressing of Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd on a white vinyl!
An original '98 pressing of the seminal indie classic, The Boy With the Arab Strap by Belle & Sebastian.
A copy of Volume 1 by the Travelling Wilburys, surely the most incredible line up for a super group of all time?! (Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, George Harrison & Tom Petty)

JUXTER - BLISTERING JAZZ FUNK FUSION 🎹
Dave Morecroft is bringing Juxter back to 12 Bar on August 1st.

The keyboardist has already wowed audiences across Tokyo, Goa, Berlin and beyond with WorldService Project—his touring jazz/punk collective. Now he’s joined forces with the formidable rhythm section of Anthony Channer and Robin Parker to create something different.

Juxter is jazz, funk and fusion colliding in one upbeat, immersive package. Influences ranging from Weather Report and Herbie Hancock to Jaco Pastorius, Maceo Parker and Frank Zappa blend into original music devised together by the trio.

Expect blistering keyboard solos, funky grooves that lock in tight, captivating riffs and basslines that matter. The kind of musicianship that feels both technically accomplished and genuinely fun to watch.

CHLOE ET AL - DREAMY JAZZ-SOUL GROOVES 🎷
Chloe et Al return to 12 Bar on August 7th.

This Bristol and Devon-based jazz and neo-soul outfit have already impressed BBC Introducing and caught Glastonbury’s attention—and now they’re bringing their dreamy, groove-infused sound back to us.

Soulful melodies, jazz-rich harmonies and contemporary R&B influences layered with spellbinding vocals and effortlessly cool musicianship. They blend the sophistication of Cleo Sol, the conviction of Amy Winehouse and the musicianship of Lianne La Havas into something entirely their own.

Their live sets are intimate and hypnotic. Expect grooves that stick, songwriting that matters, and the kind of musicianship that reminds you why live music is worth an evening out.

A few moments from this week in our little corner of Exeter. 💛

Well… that was the week we gave FREE coffee to every graduating student in Exeter. Not entirely sure it fits our business model, but it felt like the right thing to do. Congratulations to everyone graduating this year—we hope your next chapter is a brilliant one.

Without End returned for its busiest edition yet, complete with birthday cake. We hope you had a brilliant evening, Mattie. 🎂

On Friday, Robert Brian brought the thunder to 12 Bar with some of the finest drumming we’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

Then on Saturday, The Flamenco Thief treated us to an incredible evening of jaw-dropping guitar playing, alongside plenty of hilarious stories from his days as a postie. 🎶

Meanwhile, Jake braved the sunshine (without any sun cream… 😅) to take 12 Bar on the road for a pop-up at the Fore Street Flea. Thanks to everyone who came along, said hello and picked up a few record bargains.

A big welcome, too, to the newest member of Team 12 Bar, Emily, who has been turning out embarrassingly good coffees all week. It’s officially time for Sam to up his latte art game… ☕️

And finally, a little goodbye to two wonderful people, Helen and Vik, who are heading to Scotland for their next adventure.

It’s been such a pleasure getting to know you both and having you as part of 12 Bar—from Run the Tracks to gigs, and so many good conversations along the way.

Thank you for all your support and for being such a valued part of our little community. We’ll really miss you both and wish you every happiness for this exciting new chapter. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thanks, as always, for your support. Whether you’ve popped in for a record, a gig, or one of the many iced coffees keeping everyone going in this heat, we’re so grateful you’ve chosen to spend time with us.
