The darkest places are not empty.

They are full of unseen paths, quiet wisdom, and the promise of first light.

There is beauty in obscurity.

Not every journey knows its destination.

Sometimes it asks only that we keep walking through the shadows until the horizon begins to glow.

The longest night is never the last word.

Light gathers quietly at the edges, revealing fragments that were always there, waiting to be seen.

Waiting for morning.

Trusting that beyond the darkness, colour is already finding its way back into the world.

In not knowing.

In standing at the edge of night and trusting that morning will come.

‘Year’s End’ - Magazine collage on card, 41 x 30 cm. Embracing the seasons in this, the largest collage I’ve gone for yet. Finding all the colours and textures are very meditative; like puzzles, only more free.

Finished piece titled ‘Hopeful Horizon’. Magazine collage on canvas board, 30 cm x 25 cm

So enjoyed making these abstract landscape collages, from magazine cut outs, approx 3.5“ across. Will definitely be making larger versions of this to try out different colour palettes and compositions. I balanced a representational and impressionistic look and really pleased with this first try out. Think they’d make cute stamps!
