The Junction Model Railway Club

The Junction Model Railway Club A model railway club for people of all ages to come and play! The club was started in April 2012 for all ages. If you are interested, then why not come along.

The Junction Model Railway Club is located just behind the site of the former Exmouth Junction engine shed, hence the name. Since then, we are ever growing and now have over 30 members, with many guests turning up each to each meeting. I promise we don't bite! Just phone Dave for more details on the number under Contact Info on the right.

Just a reminder that we will be open tomorrow as usual at the Priory.

Due to a collision between two trains on our Priory Junction Layout a month ago and a few near misses we have seen over the last few weeks, we have decided to implement a training course on railway signalling for all our layouts, based loosely on BR signalling regulations from the 1950s-1960s. This will prevent any unnecessary damage to club members lovely locomotives and rolling stock.

Completion of the course and exam will be mandatory for anyone wishing to use our layouts. However, do not be worried as the exam has a high pass rate. As we are holding a public running day this coming Sunday, we have enlisted the help of experts at DSS* to ensure we are all fully trained in advance. Could anyone who wishes to help on Sunday please ensure that they come to the Priory tomorrow evening for the necessary training.

You will be pleased to know that as we can't run model trains during a power cut, knowledge of night working will not be required for the signalling exam. However, knowledge of fog working will be required. This is because when Rockey refills the tea urn with water, the clubroom tends to get a bit steamy!

Looking forward to seeing you all at the club for your training soon.

Wonderful to see St Katherine's Priory so busy today. Thank you to everyone who turned up to visit and hope you all had the most enjoyable day.

We are back open on the first Sunday of every month, 11-3 for any return visits.

Just a reminder of tomorrow's Easter Fayre at the Priory. The weather is looking good so it should be a great show!

It's often said that a layout is never finished! One of the many tasks we have been up to is adding some additional detail. Here's some new figures which have recently been added to our Exeter St Katherine's layout.
