In through the shop window at the close of day. It's been busy, with love, laughter and plenty of hugs. Behind the scenes we have been dealing with elderly parents falls and hospital visits from a distance. It has reminded us that we all juggle so much. Christmas is a time when we think of loved ones and it is not always easy for some and this season we have shared many stories which have brought tears to our eyes. We love what we do and would not be here with out your continued support. We also want to remind you the true meaning of Christmas we love because we are loved... John 3 v 16. So here after a 14 year search is why we think 'The Wren' indefinitely refillable pen is brilliant. We have been asked for years for a pen in the shop and each time we search we have been met with disposable plastic, one use and just unrecycleable. 'The Wren' ticks all of the boxes, is a great weight and a sheer joy to use. Over the last two weeks these have been in the shop you have told us that you have seen these advertised but would not buy without trying. Many have tried and many have brought and we have been greatful to the team who have kept us stocked. Whilst they have stopped for Christmas, you will be pleased to know that you have not missed your chance yet to try one of these out and grab the last remaining 'Wren' or 'Lumos' mini, single or duo pens. We still have a selection of gift sets or studio pads and inks (which you can use like watercolours). Available in a varied of colours whilst stocks last. Open 9am Monday 22nd Dec for our last few days!

Thank you to all ofyou who have popped in over the last few months, its been wonderful seeing so many familiar faces from over many years of being Magdalen Road. We love this time of year because the shop looks so warm and cosy; like a hug on a cold winter day. I found a moment whilst closing up last night to take a few pics to show you inside.

We are open from 9am -6pm, Monday - Saturday and Christmas Eve 9am - 1pm ish.

Thank you so much to .gillan who took this beautiful photograph last year which I discovered after Christmas, he has kindly given permission to use it... please check out his work;we love his pictures around the city and further afield.

We love colours and the shop is brimming with them. I managed to find a pocket of time and space to take a pic this afternoon and wondered what to do.... I don't think we've ever had so many cranberry, magneta or soft pinks in the shop. I've gathered up a few and here they are to bring to some warm cheer to your day.

We are super excited too because after nearly 14 years of searching we have finally found a pen befitting to our shop and everything we stand for. The indefinitely refillable writing pen - The Wren (as pictured) and also drawing pen - The Lumos & Lumos Duo. We have a fantastic selection of colourful pens, inks & gift sets by Tom's Studio. Let's bring back the craft of writing and do away with disposable and unrecycleable pens in the process!

It's a very busy time and we are working into the wee small hours to keep up! I thought I posted this a few days ago and here I am checking out the post and it's not there! So better late than never... here are our Christmas opening times. Please do telephone if you are making a special trip and are running late or stuck in traffic, we are often here after hours and will always let you in if we are still here. This weekend is Magdalen Road Christmas fair and given that the storm last year meant it being cancelled, we suspect it will be busy and full of festive fun.

They are back! Beautiful 12" Ivory and Red Advent candles for the season ahead. Many families share this tradition sending these to family or friends to connect and share the joy of lighting these daily and enjoying the countdown to Christmas together. A change in the clocks, a change in the seasons, and a big change at Maker Maker! 14 years ago I made a shop canopy and it's stood the test of time and seen many changes along this road. Sadly over the last year its sprung a leak which is not repairable. It's been removed to be recovered and the shop looks slightly different from the top of the road, it's been wet we are unable to put our table outside at the moment but we are open as usual and are busy changing the inside for the season ahead.

''Just add WATER!' The mice are making the most of this warm weather and bring a smile to many faces. Many have found new homes as the school term ends, off to new homes and start new adventure in life. It been a very long time since I've had a moment to spare but Ive been inspired to have a photographic creative burst. (We have a child studying photography and as I studied it also I think it's re-inspired helping set up some photo shots) So inspired by the 'colour of sunshine' and 'green grass' Here are some of the beautiful pieces in the shop at the moment. We are brimming after the Summer fair on the street a few weeks ago, it's has been great time to spot some of the new collections that we have in the shop.

Mimie & Louimax are leading the way; making the most of the glorious sunshine which arrived this week.... I'm sure we are looking forward to warmer weather. We are hoping to make the most of a few days away next week with our girls (hopefully the sunshine will be back!) We will be closed on Tues 7th and reopen on Sat 12th April.

P.S are a welcomed new addition to the shop and have plenty setting up camp under our tree, with more on the way!
