Exminster Bees

Exminster Bees Beeswax candles handmade pure quality natural hand dipped from Devon UK We are based on the edge of the Exminster Marshes nature reserve. Pure Beeswax candles.

Our bees forage across these marshes, taking pollen and nectar from over 50 different wildflowers. Every summer we harvest gallons of deliciously fragrant raw honey and a substantial amount of wax. The area is particularly popular with bees and new swarms arrive in our garden on a weekly basis in early summer. So the apiary is growing fast. Our honey
Exminster honey is extracted twice a year in Ju

ne and July and is jarred straight from the comb. Unlike commercially processed honey it is not heated or filtered and retains all of its nutritional value. Raw honey contains up to 80 different substances important to human nutrition and the live enzyme content is regarded as one of the highest of all foods. Much of raw, unfiltered honey's effectiveness and health benefits may be due to the presence of bee pollen and it is particularly popular for the treatment of hayfever. Hand dipped using traditional methods. Our candles are made with 100% beeswax. This is gathered every summer when we extract the honey from the Exminster honeybees. The cappings from the honeycomb are combined with wax from other local apiaries to bring you golden glows and summer scents from Devon. Our candles are:
16cm by 1.5cm. Burn time 7-8 hours. £4.00 per pair
Also:
10cm by 1cm Burn time 4 - 5 hours £6 for three pairs. We can make to order too, please ask if you need a different size. Beeswax is often referred to as the 'Queen of Waxes' for it's burning qualities and benefits. They are completely natural and chemical free. No petro chemicals, soya or palm oil, toxic compounds or artificial fragrances. Beeswax candles emit negative ions to purify and improve air quality. The negative ion effect can improve our mood, energy and health. Their honeyed scent comes from the pollen and nectar from hundreds of different Devon wildflowers. Beeswax candles have long been known as a natural air purifier. Beeswax is hypo-allergenic and beneficial to those with environmental allergies, sensitivities and asthma. They burn with a steady golden glow and give a quality of light that can only come from beeswax. Because they are hand dipped they have a long slow burn with no drips. Every batch will vary slightly, depending on the flowers that the bees have foraged on and the time of year the wax was produced. Enjoy.

Hello All!
We are out of honey but we have plenty of beautiful candles for the cold winter nights. Please take a look and we can dip to order!

The last of the summer honey has just about sold out. You can still buy our honey in the Ginger Cat Deli for a few more weeks and we'll be back next year with plenty more. Thank you to our bees for a bumper harvest. 2016 was a good year for them at least.
