I HAVE FINALLY DONE IT! 🎉

You know that job that sits on your to-do list for so long that eventually you almost stop seeing it?

Well, mine has been there since April. 🙈

I had some beautiful photographs taken of my jewellery being worn and, despite having every intention of adding them to the website, there were always new pieces to make, customers to see, workshops to run… and approximately 4,762 other things that seemed more urgent.

But this morning I sat down, spent THREE HOURS on it and every last model photograph is finally on the website.

Honestly, the satisfaction of crossing that job off my list after five months is quite ridiculous. 😂

And the best bit? You can now see so much more of my jewellery actually being worn, which makes it much easier to get a feel for the size, scale and how a piece sits.

So please, for the sake of my three hours and the five-month-old item on my to-do list, go and have a nose around the website and admire them! 😂

Sometimes it’s a total pleasure to open my email inbox! 💛

This lovely message popped up today…

“Many thanks for sending my earrings so quickly. They are beautiful. The packaging and your personal touches make my purchase very special. I’ll certainly be back for more.”

It really made me smile. I spend a lot of time thinking about all the little details — not just making the jewellery, but wrapping it, adding the story cards and making sure that opening the parcel feels special too.

So when someone takes the time to tell me they noticed, it means an awful lot.

I’m not surprised that jewellery making isn’t in this list, but it should be. I do find it restful and when I’m totally focussed on what I’m making, I feel like the outside world is a million miles away.

It’s been a stressful week this week so I’ll be grabbing my knitting needles, doing some baking and heading out for a run and a long walk with a friend and Mr Barney 🐾 this weekend.

Today has been all about replacing one earring!

I’ve made one Willow Tree earring and one Golden Hearted stud to replace two lonely partners after their other halves went missing. Both use gold leaf, which meant firing up my little kiln — and despite its innocent appearance, that thing is an absolute beast of a heater! 🔥

Losing one earring is SUCH a pain, and we all know that earring scrolls have a habit of working themselves loose. So, I’m currently road testing something called Lox.

They’re clever little earring backs that actually lock onto the post, so they can’t gradually wiggle their way off. I came across them at the Jewellery Show a couple of weeks ago and even got to meet the man who invented them.

So far, I’m really impressed. In fact, I’m seriously considering stocking them in the shop.

If you’re someone who is forever checking the back of your earrings — or, worse, has lost a favourite earring because the scroll disappeared — these might be just the thing.

Are you a serial earring-loser?! 😂

Some days in the shop are just really lovely days. Today was one of them.

There were lots of nice chats, people popping in and out, jewellery being tried on… but my highlight was seeing Emily.

Emily was in the very first Year 2 class I taught when she was six years old. She is now 25, has a degree and a proper grown-up job, which frankly seems completely ridiculous because surely I am not old enough for that to have happened. 😂

I hope she’ll forgive me for saying this, but she is still the same lovely, gentle, kind and interesting person she was when I was lucky enough to have her in my class!

Amongst all of that, something new made its way into the shop today too…

My Ebb & Flow Bangle is a gently undulating sterling silver bangle inspired by the movement of the sea — available on its own or paired with a simple silver bangle, with the option of adding a little charm too.

It feels rather appropriate after a day like today. People come and go, years pass, life changes and somehow, every now and again, it all flows back around again. ❤️

Woo hoo! Look at these little cockle shell studs in 9ct gold. ✨

They were made as a special commission, and I have to admit, I hope they won’t be the only pair I ever make.

So many of my favourite memories are beach memories — windswept walks, pockets full of shells, days spent on the Norfolk coast.

They really are my solid gold memories… so perhaps it’s only right that some of my favourite little shells should be made in solid gold too. 💛
