This time last month we were lucky enough to be in Brighton, enjoying watching Nick Cave at Preston Park.

It was such a beautiful thing to be part of, made even more special by the fact that I was returning to where I spent my student days in the early 90s.

We had a splendid time wandering around the Laines and along the seafront. I was delighted to find lovely Sarah Wallace | Nature inspired designer beautiful work in Atelier beside the Sea aka ATELIER BESIDE THE SEA

Now seems like a good time to pop our heads in here to say that we’ve made a few decisions this year. We are still here, enjoying the beach and finding beautiful seaweed to press.

We’re still selling online (via Etsy) and making things to sell at Christmas fairs.

But… after this year, we will no longer be running regular seaweed pressing workshops. We’ve loved doing them and meeting lots of like minded people. But we both have busy “day jobs” so have made the decision to take the pressure off ourselves a bit.

We’ll still consider group bookings, (min. 4 people), drop us an email to find out more.

We’ll be at Jubilee Wharf Christmas Fair on 13 and 14 December.

It’ll be a great weekend chock full of talented makers.

This evening I’ve been labelling the pressings from a recent workshop at Sailor’s Jail. Don’t they look great?

We have availability on the next workshop in June, you can book on our website (link in bio).

Alternatively you can book a session for you and your friends/family (4 people) at a time to suit you. Message us for details.

Had a lovely time with my mum enjoying the Spring sunshine at today. The new growth at this time of year never fails to lift my mood.

These beauties were all pressed in September at at the last workshop of 2024.

According to my copy of “Seaweeds of Britain and Ireland”, Wright’s Golden Membrane W**d has only been found in the UK in Falmouth - how cool is that?!

So these pressings capture a tiny piece of Falmouth and will be treasured forever by the lovely people who came along to the workshop that day.

This weekend is Imbolc and marks the half way point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. We’re half way to the light.

January has been a tough month for us, so we’ve retreated into ourselves. We’ve been trying out some different creative ideas as we creep towards lighter evenings and the energy of spring.

We’re trying to work out a way of enjoying our tiny business together, so it can be a mindful and joyful counterpoint to the more difficult aspects of our lives.

We’re finishing our 2024 Christmas Fair season in style!

We’ll be at on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December, along with lots of other amazing makers.

It’ll be a one stop Christmas shop, with over 35 makers, open workshops and Muddy Beach Café on hand for delicious food and drinks.

We’re really looking forward to it and hope to see you there 🤩
