A year ago today, life changed in an instant.

I was rushed to hospital with a double pulmonary embolism and was told afterwards that I could have died at any moment. Itā€™s strange how a single day can divide your life into ā€œbeforeā€ and ā€œafter.ā€

Today, a year later, Iā€™m still here. ā¤ļø

This photo of me giving Bailey a kiss says everything about what Iā€™ve learned this past year. Itā€™s the ordinary moments that matter most. The quiet times. The people (and pets!) we love. A walk by the sea. A cup of tea. A new cast on. Time spent doing what fills our hearts.

This experience has made me far more grateful.

So today isnā€™t about looking back with sadness. Itā€™s about celebrating another year of life and gently reminding us all not to save our hugs, our kind words or our dreams for ā€œone day.ā€

If thereā€™s someone you love, give them a hug today. Tell them they matter. And donā€™t forget to make time for the things that make you feel alive too.

Iā€™m incredibly thankful to still be part of this wonderful community. Thank you for sharing this journey with me. šŸ’™
