I was watching episode 3 of the enjoyable if occasionally absurd new series of Father Brown on the BBC. Set in around 1954, I was pleased, if surprised, to see a nice collection of Folio Society books published from the 1970s onwards on the shelves in one scene, about 4 minutes in. Some nice books from the Folio Poets series, a few of the decorated spines from the Victorian series, and plenty of others. I failed to detect either of the two Father Brown collected stories published in the 1990s, but perhaps it was as well, or we might all have vanished into a black hole in the space-time continuum.
