Field update!

It's now been 10 weeks since the fence went up at the new farm and we've come a long way from a bare acre of earth.

The dahlias are about to flower, the hardy annuals are all in bloom and the half hardy annuals are starting to make an appearance.

The perennial area is filling out and coming into flower with more plants going in the ground every week.

I've also started to work on the last 3 blocks of beds, mulching them so that I can rotivate them at the weekend.

It's all starting to come together.

🌱 Healthy flowers start with healthy soil.

Beautiful blooms don't happen by chanceβ€”they begin beneath the surface.

One of the best ways we care for our soil is by using **mulch and cover crops**.

🌾 Mulch helps protect the soil by reducing weeds, conserving moisture, and keeping temperatures more stable. As it breaks down, it also feeds the soil with valuable organic matter.

🌿 Cover crops do even more. They keep living roots in the ground, prevent erosion, improve soil structure, support beneficial microbes, and can even add nutrients back into the soil.

Healthy soil means:
🌸 Stronger plants
🐝 More biodiversity
πŸ’§ Better water retention
🌍 A more resilient and sustainable flower farm

We're not just growing flowersβ€”we're growing the soil that grows them.

What do you use to keep your soil healthy? Let me know in the comments! πŸ‘‡

It's British Flowers week so here's some reasons to buy British.....

Our bouquets are handcrafted with fresh, locally grown flowers, carefully cultivated using sustainable practices that are kinder to the planet. By choosing seasonal blooms from nearby growers, you're supporting local communities, reducing environmental impact, and celebrating the natural beauty of each season.

Whether you're saying thank you, happy birthday, or simply "I'm thinking of you," flowers have a unique way of brightening someone's day and lifting their spirits.

A beautiful gift for someone you love. A thoughtful choice for the Earth. πŸŒŽπŸ’

Fresh. Local. Sustainable. Made to make people smile.

Field update!

It's been 2 weeks since I last updated you on progress at the new farm and we've got so much done.

The studio now has doors and windows, we put up one of the greenhouses and installed the water tank to collect rain water from the studio roof.

We have planted thousands of half hardy annuals with still more to come. The dahlia are starting to come up and we have flowers from the hardy annuals!

The dream feels more real everyday.
