From impossible... to inspiring others ❤️

When Hannah finished secondary school in Kenya, her future looked uncertain.

As one of five siblings, her family had done everything they could to get her through school, but university was simply out of reach.

Having already lost one parent, and with no one else in the household in employment or having attended higher education, continuing her studies seemed impossible.

In 2011, Hannah joined the Rafiki Thabo Foundation scholarship programme and, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, went on to complete a Bachelor of Business Management at Narok University College, graduating in 2014.

Today, Hannah is a mum, a successful businesswoman and the owner of two thriving businesses—a shoe business (both in-store and online) and another supplying goods through government contracts.

But what makes Hannah's story truly special is what she has chosen to do with the opportunities education gave her.

👟 She donates school shoes to children living in a local orphanage.

🎒 She helps pay school fees for children in her home village.

💚 In recent years she has also supported children with shopping and school costs, and through her church's mercy ministry now provides food, clothing and school fees for families in need, particularly single mothers who have lost hope.

Hannah has also been able to buy a tuk-tuk to generate additional income, purchase land where she hopes to build her own home, and continues to grow her businesses.

She once said that completing university helped her realise the potential she had within herself and gave her the confidence to build a different future.

Hannah is one of 965 children and young people who have been supported through education over the past 20 years, helping them fulfil their potential and create lasting change for their families and communities.
