This is Lynda who has just taken part in our SCRAP Community Sewing Bee Challenge and produced this gorgeous garment. Lynda says… “I did a fashion degree 10 years ago and haven’t really used my design skills since. I’ve loved this sewing bee style challenge. My creation is inspired by the colours of the fabrics and the make do and mend-ness of the Scrapstore.” Thank you for taking part in the challenge, Lynda, her garment will be displayed with the others in our cafe area until the end of the month (Weds-Sat 10am-4pm) as part of our Sustainable Fashion Week activities. Please note: Next Saturday (19 Sept) is our Craft DeStash Market so you won’t be able to see the display, instead there will be 25 stalls of fantastic eclectic bargains to be had - free entry, all welcome, including dogs, plus our micro cafe and the rest of Scrap to explore.

Lisa Tobin has been here today doing the SCRAP Community Sewing Bee Challenge! Lisa said that the vibe is fab at SCRAP and super inspiring.

“The space has been beautiful to create in with the just the amount of space and the huge windows and natural light is so good for the soul.

I loved the freedom of this challenge, it has been so much fun.

Not knowing the materials before I arrived was exciting and letting your mind wander in whichever direction you felt like in the moment was fantastic.

Amazing time thank you, Lisa.”

If you would like to give it a go the space is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week 11am - 2pm. Just drop in if you are an experienced sewist and you’re an adult - give yourself the one hour challenge. 🙂 xx
